A few of us down here are off to Phillip Island next week, helping out with a mob who run track days there. For 2 days we get to flag marshal for half a day, then ride the track for the other half, all for FREE !!!
I'll try to keep this topic updated as we meander our way down there with pics and maps.
cheers!

Tumbarumba... Tumbar in Spanish means to lean (lean the bike into the curve)... Rumba is obviously a latin rhythm... so you guys will lean into the curves using the rhythm method...

So a great trip once again, I covered just over 2000km in 6 days including 2 half-days at the track.
Unoffical timing had me lapping at around 2:18 to 2;20, Kirby the monkey-boy lapping at 1:58 to 2:05  Stoner laps at around 1:29 !!
So thats it, 8 of us had a ball. Next ride is the 4 day Snowy Ride in November.
Good stuff, looks like fun as usual. Kirby is getting slower, I'm sure I was timing him at 1'55'' when we went in 2008...

Those 2008 times were in the fast group where I wasn't getting held up in the corners like in the medium group this time. That said I don't reckon I had another 3 seconds a lap in me this year. In fact it was nice to get held up every now and then, because I got to have a rest!
Sometimes the pump in my right arm got so bad I couldn't make my fingers extend at all. Especially for the Honda - Siberia section where you don't get much time before you have to get hard on the brakes again. So just roll off nice and early, take my whole hand off the throttle and flap it down on the brake lever like a dead fish, squeeze with whatever strength was left and carry a bit more corner speed!!
Age catches up with all of us eventually... I reckon if we go back next year I might get me some of those hand squeezy exercisers and get my forearms into a bit more shape!
You guys look like having a wet but trip.
Glad that you still can do the track with normal tires.
Where the pipe protector goes??

Are there any Ozzie VFRs left that still have regular RSU forks?
Nice deal on getting some free track time :wheel: and thanks for the report.
out of the 5 VFR's on this trip, 4 have been fiddled with in the fork department
That looked like a heap of fun!
My 4th gen has reworked stock forks.
