VFR1200F Lower footpegs from Knight Design now ready

Knight Design is now offering their footpegs for the 7th Gen VFRs. ~$135USD

I'd had their footpegs (2" drop and 1" drop) on other bikes and the quality and feel was superb so I reached out to them and they came through.

- 1" drop so no lower than the feeler on the stock unit.

- Articulates rearward the same with stock spring and pin

- Within adjustment range of the stock pedals (I'll still likely take out the locknut from the brake adjuster for 1cm more)

- Shift lever became 1cm closer to the left peg when I set height.

- Had the Sidetrax before but chose the Quadtrax this time. More grip and less vibration due to boots on little pyramid tips.

- Would describe the level of vibration w/o the rubber as the equal to what I feel on the bars.

Well, if I decide to drop my foot-pegs, these look like the number one pick. Thanks for posting the info!

thanks for posting. I'll probably order a set, but I sure wish the aftermarket folks would make a rubberized version... I'm not complaining though!

I got mine delivered today (I got the "street" ones, not the aggressive ones that the OP got). Nice fast service. They look real nice.

I think the oem pegs are to low. I scratch them on the tarmac while riding in the bends. I already modyfied the oem suspension rear öhlins front stiffersprings and modified shim stack.

Just an update to my earlier post after riding with the new pegs. My only concern going in was whether the lack of rubber on the peg would result in unacceptable vibrations being transmitted to my feet.

My experience is that there is essentially no additional vibration. A great mod. Very pleased.

Sold! Ordered anodized red for the 2010 VFR and anodized blue for the wife's 2012 VFR. I am sure my occasional lockup in the hips has more to do with poor fitness than peg height but where there is a technology solution I must go there ....

Got the blue anodized ones for my 2012. They are excellent, but vibrate more than stock. Have been in touch with Alicia Knight and they are going to be offering lowered pegs with rubber surface for VFR 1200.

She sent pictures, but I cannot seem to copy and transfer to this note.

Have not noticed that issue at all. Edited my post before yours to include photos. Curious what those rubber pegs will look like.

Had read that others made adjustments to brake lever. We left as is on both bikes and decided to see if we needed the adjustment. A couple of years later they remain as is. On a more timely update my wife's bike had a nasty fall over on a slick piece of angled asphalt near Lac La Biche during a downpour and the right side peg snapped right off at the bend. We are in the middle of our annual west coast pilgrimage so we have jury rigged my right side passenger peg in the foot peg slot until we get back to Toronto. Not pretty but it works for now.

All lowered pegs I've had in the past push my feet outard to the point I need to really point my toes inward to reach the brake and shift levers. Do the Knight pegs move your feet outward or do they keep pretty well in line with the stock peg location?

Bought a set of the all aluminum diamond pattern ones (6'3") 2 years ago. Make quite a bit of difference in leg room over stock. A little pricey, but excellent quality. Those 2 piece Chinese ones don't look very solid. Rear brake sits a little high, but you don't need it except a stop light, so its not a big deal. Switch back to the stock ones when we go to deal's gap or the like, they are easy to drag but If you ride like the 99%, it shouldn't be an issue. If you are a track enthusiest and ride like it on the street, keep the clearance in mind. Good product.

Bought these and love them. No issues with rear brake lever position. Adjusted shift lever slightly, not a problem.

Photos show adjustable lower foot pegs from Thurn Motorsport, Germany. I have them set up for lowest position, fully 2" down from OEM pegs. I find them very comfortable. They do push out my feet somewhat,, but that brings my right heel further way from the heat. I dropped the brake pedal as far as it would go without removing the locking nut, duly adjusting the brake light sensor as necessary. I do still need to lift my foot to operate the pedal, but I had to do that anyway with the OEM foot pegs.

I have the lower brake pedal arrangement on back order, also from Thurn and will see how that impacts the foot position.

I used Buell pegs and modified them to get a bit lower...looks like the same drop. Ended up putting the stock pegs back on since I was grinding the lower pegs too much on the tight turns in the Ozarks. Did not improve my knee pain as much as I had hoped. I just had to make a change in my riding style. More upright and less hanging off with more emphasis on just counter steering the bike more.
