I got tired of looking at my solid white HJC, so I used the RWB VFR as my inspiration and broke out the rattle cans.

Not bad for a rookie.

Looks good. Considering a home job on one of mine.

What brand worked for you? Any clear coat?

Thanks for the compliments guys.
The white is original color of the helmet, I used Valspar satin for the red and blue, but the blue wasn't the correct shade so I sanded it down and used Rust-oleum Metallic. It was the only glittery blue I could find.
I'll clear it with a satin once it dries for a few days.

Here's a few more. It just needs the Honda sticker along the bottom to finish it off.

Very cool!  You get props!

This is EXACTLY the reason why I bought a solid white helmet.  Thanks for the additional angles in the photos... I may just snatch your exact design shapes and sizes, if you don't mind of course.

I don't mind at all. I just eyeballed it and guessed where to put the tape down.
I seriously doubt that both sides are a mirror image, but you cant see both sides at the same time anyhow lol.

So great. I may copy your idea... Thanks.

Turned out great! :fing02: :fing02:

After the fact information. The HJC labels are removable from many of their helmets.
If it isn't under some clearcoat, it's a simple peel off sticker.
Some people like them, I didn't and have removed them from 3 HJC helmets with no problem.
For reference, a CL-SP, a CL-16, and a friends IS-16.
For me, a cleaner look, for those painting, less masking.

NICE........ JOB.........

Now you just need a RWB VFR to match!

All we need is a address and a price ...

Eyeballing it is close enough on something like this!  I have been having difficulty deciding exactly how to get the stripes to connect / coincide in the back, and that is what's prevented me from getting out the paint (as well as a failed ignition coil, terrible fuel economy, car repairs, etc).

I like the way there is still white showing in the middle where it all meets at the back.  I will use this as a template, start with vinyl, and go from there. :fing02:

That is awesome.  I am going to need a new helmet next year, time to score a white Arai and have it painted just like this.  Well done

And the RC30 replica paint job on that 6th gen is pretty sweet as well.  where was that photo taken?

Interesting.
Didn't pick up on any variance. Like I said before, looks good.
If you hadn't mentioned it, I would have thought you spent a lot of time doing the layout.
Good eye.

Thanks Delta, I found the RC30 pic on google while looking for Honda racing bikes for paint ideas. ,I stopped by Haps after work today looking for little Honda stickers to complete the helmet, but it was a no go. I did pick up a new Battery though. Did you get yours squared away yet?

It took a lot of eyeballin to get it right, but I never used any measuring device. just my tired ole eyes.

Not yet, thats on my list to buy for sure.  There are some decent Honda decals on eBay, both Honda and HRC.
