I'd expected there to be a vast amount of 3rd party PCV maps available online as people submit their own maps for particular configurations.
I know that there were loads for TuneECU when I had my Triumph 1050 Sprint.
My VFR1200F is a European model with no catalyser, a BMC air filter and a Two Brothers M2 carbon can with a P1-x baffle. Dynojet do a European model Ackrapovic with standard air cleaner and cat but that's the closest I can get prior to getting the bike Dyno'd.
I've done a fair bit of searching but I can't find anything 3rd party at all. Does anyone know of any such forums/websites? Or does anyone have a suitable map I could use as a better base map than the Dynojet one?
Hi Peter, as you know i de-cated my VFR1200, all the maps that i am aware of, are with the catalyser fitted, so you need to get a tailer made map, to suit your exhaust system, ie, Dyno.
Ive just begun to look into adding a Power Commander or Bazzaz. I have the Akrapovic slip on. Located in California. Are you aware of any maps or which one is the better system.

There is a map for the Akrapovic end can with standard air filter, on the Dynojet disc.

That'd be odd since Dynojet's located in California. Would they only host maps THEY made? In other news I have the Bazazz and the PCV. I'd say definitely get the Z-bomb right away; it'll make the biggest difference of anything you'll install. Or at least that I have anyway. I still cat though.

Why is it odd? Dynojet operate Worldwide and they do supply the above mentioned Ackropovic map for the European model. They sell PCVs in Europe too you know :)
I think the earlier poster was referring to the PCV vs the Bazazz equivalent not the Z Bomb that I also have fitted. A different thing entirely. I'm hoping that the PCV combined with de-cat and less restrictive exhaust will iron out the less than perfect fuelling with the Z Bomb taking care of the 1st and 2nd gear torque holes.

Agreed, i fitted the Zbomb, it makes a big difference in 1st & 2nd gear.
hahah, nice. sorry to convolute the topic. best thing is always to get a custom map but there IS the nifty 'auto tune' add on offered which I plan on purchasing soon. Might not be as good as dyno tested maps but you dont have to take it to the shop every time you modify, from what they claim. It's somewhat popular. Again all I can attest to is that the Zbomb is 'the bomb' and the PCV, while being a pain to install, is quite useful and adds some nifty options. I like options. :cheerleader:

Peter,
have you been in contact with Dynojet UK directly? On the CB1000R forum there's a guy called Martin who works for Dynojet at their Preston HQ. He has said that they'll Dyno your bike FOC and do a map for you if you have a setup that they don't have on their database. A few guys on the CB site have done this. Martin is a mine of information over there!!

On my R1 I have the PC5 and autotune. I had a map built on the dyno (custom) and installed the optional Dynojet switch below my horn switch. this switch turns on/off the autotune. Now my base map is there for autotune to work off of. ideal setup and the autotune is ideal for anyone who rides at elevation as it will make changes to correct for elevation, humidity, etc.

Thats exactly what i have done,, the correct way .
On a ride By Wire system an add on module will never work correctly . That's way the change the complete ECU on aprilia and duc and more other bikes. By microtec or other modules. The PCV or bazzaz or rapid bike modules will work for maybe 80%.Like tuneboy for Triumph will work much better but you have to find someone to break in the ECU.
I have a 2012, 2 Brothers Slip On, Power Commander map and a Bazaaz....I had the Power Commander and Pipe before the Bazaaz, I would recomend the Bazaaz forst, its only 60 bucks or so, and takes about 5 minutes. Its a different motorcycle in the first 2 gears after that. If that is not enough fun for you, then add the pipe and get a map from Dyno Jet that matches it. Right now I'm right at 158 HP to the rear wheel, and 87 Ft Lbs of torque.
The Dynojet guys put my bike on a Dyno here in Vegas, kept it for a day, and created a map for the pipe and model year. Overall it was a great decision, and there were really great to work with. I can't imagine any other Dyno Jet shop being any different. If your ever in Vegas drop a line. Good Luck.
