From Google:
Difference between H4 and H7 bulbs: http://www.ehow.com/...headlights.html
This guy stuck an H4 bulb on an H7 plate and this guy ground down the H4 base plate to fit the H7 socket.
I'm kind of curious why you would want to do this?

Well, now it looks like my best bet is to buy new H7 bulbs with higher wattage than the stockers. Problem is, my headlight modulator has H4 connector plugs on it: 3 female slots instead of 2.
Technically it will fit fine on the H7 bulb, but does anyone know if it would be a problem to run them like this?
I'm assuming on on the H7 bulb 2 prongs = one hi beam and one ground, and I'm guessing that one H4 bulbs and connector plugs its one hi beam, one low beam and one ground.
Still confused as to why you need so much wattage? I find the stock headlights on the VFR to be very bright. Only saying this because the VFR as you probably know has electrical gremlins with the OEM set up current demands without creating other areas for problems...
It gets me noticed. I'm one of those biker arseholes that runs hi beam 24/7, day and night, with a headlight modulator. All that wattage ( + the mod) helps when splitting lanes out here.

Gotcha...forgot about lane splitting...good to be seen
I bought some type of adapter to use a standard bulb in the Honda sockets...never used it, but it's in my tool box. I'll look at it when it get home if I remember...
EDIT: I think they are discussing it here:

Also, look at post #2 for more info on what happens to high beam when those tabs are modified or bent on the stock H4 bulb...
