Last 50 of 376- 4th Gen VFR Grab Rails Install I was expecting them to still be on the mounting pegs, and just swiveling down flat, no?
- 4th Gen VFR Grab Rails Install Yeah I thought the little flat blade screws were odd too. Never seen flat blade screws on a bike that I can remember.
- 4th Gen VFR Grab Rails Install Ok. The bolts I have. They are in the same holes once the grab bars got removed….just put back in the same holes to hold the plastic on. By bumpers I meant the little black rubber pieces with the small flathead bolts in…
- Hello! Here's my new to me 2007 VFR This forum kicks copious amounts of arse, just for stuff like this!
- 4th Gen VFR Grab Rails Install Wait....my bolts are different than the ones in the manual. I was just now thinking "I'm missing washers so I'll have to get some, according to the manual pic" but now I think they are not even the same bolts.
- 4th Gen VFR Grab Rails Install Hiya. Hey I didn't want to start a new thread when this one should work just fine: I recently found the grab rails for my 94 as well and need some info as I'm getting all the bikes ready for a somewhat regular…
- 4th gen fuel tank petcock assembly? Which means I can’t get rid of the reserve tube completely or block the reserve hole in the petcock itself then. Have to have that hole open. Ok.
- 4th gen fuel tank petcock assembly? I guess what I’m trying to clarify is that I know there’s no reserve setting on the petcock which, if there was, would turn off the main tube and only let gas through the reserve tube. Since there’s no reserve setting,…
- 4th gen fuel tank petcock assembly? OR...cut off the lower damaged part of BOTH tubes cleanly, and adhere to OEM base?
- 4th gen fuel tank petcock assembly? Yeah I still have the OEM in-line strainer on the 750 but I'll check it when I get back to that bike. Got it ready to pull carbs out but got sucked back into the ZX carb issues. Hope to clear the ZX this week if the…
- 4th gen fuel tank petcock assembly? Yeah that pic was before it went thru the ultrasonic cleaner a few times. The base is clean and intact and will fit into the petcock nice and tight still. I've got a box of new orings and have many that fit the base to…
- 4th gen fuel tank petcock assembly? JZH, 2/17/2026 at 4:03 AM Honda used the same fuel tap on all VFRs at that time, and the ROW bikes did have an external reserve switch. The US bikes simply had a different plastic knob on the tap, which prevented it…
- 4th gen fuel tank petcock assembly? My other bike (ZX) now has in-tank filter screen issues as well. Know anyone who sells JUST replacement (hopefully metal) screens where I could just swap them out? Or maybe a DIY solution?
- 4th gen fuel tank petcock assembly? Just as an FYI: I had my local dealer look for this petcock on Lightspeed, which searches all of the US dealers to see if anyone has it in their store inventory. Not a single one has old stock, apparently. Wonder if…
- 4th gen fuel tank petcock assembly? Hmmm...the way that plastic OEM one looked coming out of the tank, I'm hesitant to go with a plastic screen material again. But the Pingel one is pricey. You bought the plate only, thinking by the time you need it,…
- 4th gen fuel tank petcock assembly? so what's the benefit of two strainers (750) vs the one larger strainer (1100)? In some bikes like my ZX, the shorter strainer is for the reserve part of the tank when you manually switch it over. But...the 4th gen…
- 4th gen fuel tank petcock assembly? My petcock was solid-packed with what looked like just...mud/dirt. I mean like I scooped up the yard and crammed it in there. All the way to the fuel outlet. And that's just from sediment in the fuel?? I dug for a while…
- 4th gen fuel tank petcock assembly? ...could be replaced by this (part 3/5): Interesting. I like where your head is at.
- 4th gen fuel tank petcock assembly? re: cbr1100XX idea So...you're saying keep the petcock, and my old strainer, that looks like this (part 6/9):
- 4th gen fuel tank petcock assembly? No, still love but the realities of older carb bike woes are wearing on me. And I still have the 500 to go with the same probable issues after this one. You found the Pingel mod here on this forum?
- 4th gen fuel tank petcock assembly? Boy. Gas sitting in a fuel system and tank is horrendous to a bike. Like a damn bomb went off in my tank. My petcock assembly is in unbelievable shape. Fuel ate one of the strainers completely. It's part number…
- Dallas area older honda repair shop? Anyone in the Dallas area know of a good mechanic for older sportbikes? Non-dealer/small shop would be fine as long as they know what they are doing. Most shops won't touch older stuff at all.
- Issues with my first gen Mine are so jacked, torn and flat I'm not sure I have a measurement to go by. Anyone have one handy and can tell me the specs, etc?
- Issues with my first gen Hey anyone have a part number or possible equivalent part number for the tiny o rings on the pilot air screws? I have a definite leak on one at least. Fiche shows I need to buy an entire kit? Surely there’s a cheap and…
- Honda OEM 6th Gen VFR800 02-11 seat, black Honda VFR800 OEM seat 6th Gen 2002-2011, black. Great shape, no cuts or tears. Dare I say perfect condition. Taken off the bike and stored in the top of my garage in a box in 2008. Price is $150 shipped anywhere in…
- Issues with my first gen Dutchy, 8/2/2019 at 8:47 PM That @ should have sent a notification to that member 😎 He knows VF's.... Cool. Have him post up his opinion if he has one. Love to have him weigh in.
- Issues with my first gen If I can see thru all of them, they should be clear.
- Issues with my first gen yep. All the tubes are clean. Soaked them and blew air thru them and visually checked them at least 5-6 times each tube over multiple tries at the cleaning.
- Issues with my first gen yeah...they shake and vibrate a little at idle of course but they pull up, the bike stumbles and cuts off though
- Issues with my first gen Just tried the starting fluid thing. Got no reaction at all. I also tried carb cleaner, because it had a straw that I could direct a little more where I wanted it to go. No reactions either. The one thing I did notice…
- Issues with my first gen @huh?
- Issues with my first gen Hey peoples. I’ve got an 85 VF500F that ran like a champ...until I let it sit for too long. I pulled the carb bank and cleaned them and reinstalled...more than once. New carb boots x4 as well. All carb diaphragms have…
- 1986 VF500F in USA...distinguishing Like Captn said, the slots in the side panels give it away.
- 1986 VF500F in USA...distinguishing I've got both a mint 84 and and 85, and yours is neither of them. I'm going with 86 as well.
- Idle adjustment cable specs Anyone know the thread pitch and size on a 6th gen idle screw adjustment screw? Trying to McGuyver a longer cable for my 1st gen idle screw....
- carb cleaning on the bike? I had Sta-Bil in all my stuff too. A healthy amount. Like much more than it calls for, b/c hey, why not? More=better, and I really don't want to be going thru the carbs on 4 bikes. And here I am, going thru the carbs on…
- carb cleaning on the bike? I dunno. My 6th gen start/runs/idles/rides a-ok after sitting for months. None of my carb bikes do. So far, every one has needed a tear down cleaning.
- carb cleaning on the bike? Bike buttoned up and idles and rides like a champ. Up next: my first gen. Same issue. Yay. My kingdom for FI on all my shite.
- carb cleaning on the bike? Boom! That's it! Found out where it went, thanks to your foto, Cos. I knew it had to be held in by tension somewhere, and that's exactly how it's held. It does have a slight "bump" on the inside ends of those metal tabs…
- carb cleaning on the bike? If that IS where it is, it's super odd that its just held in by....tension maybe?
- carb cleaning on the bike? 1) WHERE did you find that foto? Amazing. 2) I'll look and report back.
- carb cleaning on the bike? Just pulled them off again and flipped them over and still did not see where it might go. Didn't see where #10 and #12 went either. It HAS to be 10 or 12 but I'll be damned if I know WHERE they go. Doesn't seem like…
- carb cleaning on the bike? yeah that one is smaller and stays locked on the cable unless you unscrew it I guess. I'll guess I'll have to pull them off again and see how #10 and #12 stay on. It's the only thing I see.
- carb cleaning on the bike? fiche doesn't show one there either
- carb cleaning on the bike? yes it does but I didn't unscrew it or mess with it.
- carb cleaning on the bike? That was my immediate thought, but it doesn't look like there's anyway for it to go on that cable. Too small to fit over the knurled blk knob.
- carb cleaning on the bike? If only there HAD been a previous owner...I'm pretty tight on keeping this thing clean. It was just sitting between the heads near the idle screw. I would have seen it earlier...
- carb cleaning on the bike? Odder still, nothing was disconnected other than the float bowls, so if it IS #10 or #12, it slid off something without being taken apart etc
- carb cleaning on the bike? Ok...just for fun, let's say it was #10 or #12. Where exactly do they go? In the diagram, it doesn't show really. The longer I look at it, the longer I think the two coiled springs I saw on the bike are the ones shown…
- carb cleaning on the bike? Nahhhh. Those two are really tightly coiled springs that run between 1 and 3 and 2 and 4. Also those are really heavy duty springs, looks like. The one I found is a light little one.
