6Th Gen Fuel Gauge Question

Real quick (since I'm new to this 6th gen I just got):

Key off. Bike off. Look at your dash fuel gauge. Do you see a short, grey bar on the far left? I think it's in the same position as the last bar on the gas gauge, and it looks like the same half bar/grey bar that blinks when you need gas.

On mine, with the bike off, key off, I still see the half, grey bar on the gauge. Not sure if it's always been there, or if I just noticed it.

Normal? Your 6th gen got this too? If so, that's.....odd, yes?

Yep, all normal. It's a sneaky way of creating the blink effect when the fuel is low. When the segment is active, your grey bit is covered by the liquid crystal and all looks normal. When you get down on fuel, the ECU switches the segment on and off, so it looks like half of the last one flashes.
One mine, that section is red, so it looks like it flashes black/red when I get into the reserve. There's one on the left display for overtemperature too.
It's cheaper and easier to do it that way than to use split segments to the display. Kinda slick, really.
