Gentlemen (ladies?): Time to return to our element: mountains, vistas and curves, all hastily dispensed of by a pack of good, quick riders. It's been a while.
I'm open to suggestions for routes, as it seems I've ridden pretty much every road in this state and don't care one way or the other. I am a big fan of the Lassen/Paradise/Oroville area, but as per usual, I'm just along for the ride.
But, were it up to me, I'd probably go for something like this http://goo.gl/maps/sFJbW Though probably clockwise rather than counter to make more fun for the Saturday-only crew.
That route is long because I'm going to overnight this one, so bring your camping gear and spare liver if your schedule allows. Join where you can, leave when you must.
Im in for an over night trip. Although Brian, I think we would be the only two who would be camping. I dont have luggage for my bike yet so I will have to figure that out, but shouldnt be too difficult. And I think I have a spare liver somewhere...
Route looks good to me. On my new bike up in Tahoe I'm going to want to disappear down some random dirt road... I'll have to control myself. haha

Do yourself a favor and get a bike pump. Your gonna want to air down a bit if you go and hit some dirt trails.
Does the bike come equipped with crash bars? If not you might want to get some put on just in case. That's a big heavy bike.

No luggage never stopped me. I may just hotel it actually, we'll see. Depends on the level of interest and the route. Would likely wear a very light backpack.
Oh yeah, and check your spoke tension often for the first couple thousand miles. yamahasupertenere.com has all the info you've ever needed.

I dont know how much dirt riding I will be doing for a while until I do get some stuff, But first I will probably get a top box for my stuff, Then a skid plate, then crash bars. Didnt think about the bike pump thing, makes sense to drop the air pressure a bit. I think I have an electric pump from a Miata somewhere around here...
And if we can find somewhere reasonably priced I am 100% okay with a hotel as well. Just dont really want to spend a ton of money on one.
Electric pumps are a pain. I use a bike pump at home. Get crash bars after the top case then skid plate. You'll be most likely to drop it before you bottom out. But either way shopping for stuff for you new bike is gonna be hella fun! Enjoy.

Ok. Im in for the weekend. Gonna try and get a throttle lock for the duc before then. Realy important, right hand goes numb quick.
Camping for me is not an option given what happened last time.
I had poison oak for a month. It was cool in that my dick swelled up to the size of a baseball bat,but the itching was too much to bear.
Lol just kidding. No really.....never mind.
That was tasteless and I do send my apologies to those reading this post.
I'll just put some thongs and stuff in a back pack and be ready to go for some hotel camping.
Shit! If I offended,read line 7 again.
So....my only problem is this. The duc has a small tank, about 150 miles per tank. And thats pushing it. There is no fuel guage.
Nice huh?
Going up in elevation my MPG'S are gonna drop. This is what I've read on the duc forums.
Anyone have a fuel pump? (George)and can you bring one just in case?
The tiger is now in Truckee so I'm riding a bike that I have no experiance with for this trip.
Yea, I know. Boo hoo woe is me. Could be worse, I could be riding a VFR. Awe man that's gonna piss someone off.
Read line 7 again.
I did my last long ride today on the viffer. I tell you what. I'm gonna miss that bike. What a great ride. The end of an era.
Sad times, but if it didn't keep dying at speed,I'd keep it.

That was quite an enjoyable read. haha.
We can do have the ride, you can switch bikes, then do the second half on the Tiger. lol.
And yeah Im still a bit sad I had to sell my VFR. I wish I could have kept both bikes, but alas, I live with my parents... and they said no. It was either live at home and be afford two bikes but not be allowed to. Or move out and be allowed to have two bikes but cant afford to... both suck.
Im sure ill love the Tenere even more when I get it all farkled out the way I want it.
Like us on the 7th gens can go more than 150 miles on a tank?
Don't worry tc, that's the way it is later too, except instead of your parents it's your wife. Unless it's mine, who doesn't seem to give a crap what I fill the garage with. But that's what I hear.
I don't stay at hotels that aren't "reasonably priced" so don't worry.
Giddy to hear those Termis and the DAM on George's bike. Really itching to get rid of the 7th again...damn you guys.
The way I look at it is this.
Tc now has a S10
I have a 848
Mr B is gonna get a 1200 tiger/S10 next year
George got a cbr 600.
Fuck! By this time next year we're gonna look like a rag tag
bunch of miss mached sport bike, world traveling, poser Italian wannabe
VFR forum subscribing loonitics.
Yea boie!
Tj.
Yea tc.
Like Brian said.
If its not your parents,it will be your wife.
And then your next wife, and so on till you have no money left or any will to live.
But hey. Marrage is great. Try it a few times. I did. Lol.

No worries, I'll remain your honorary Vif rider to make it legit unless a certain V4 Tuono makes it's way under the covers. Prolly wouldn't kick that one out.
Currently on a East Coast family reunion visit, Newport, RI.
Bummer on the 13th, I'll be on a UCSB orientation with my Freshman son.
Still planning to ride down to the GP and meet up. (George?)
Greg, yep, The wife & I will be there... Goin down early Sunday morning then after the races, we have a hotel in Monterey... It's my Birthday, so were going to make it an overnighter.
P.S. I don't plan on getting rid of my 7th Gen anytime soon, I actually like it. The CBR ain't gonna make this trip, i'm not riding that thing any farther than Lake Berryessa... For two reasons, it's too fucking fast, it's like riding my mountain bike with a rocket strapped to my ass and it's just too uncomfortable after an hour but it is fun :cheerleader:
Hey Greg & Troy, PM your phone #'s. I seem to have lost them or never had them.
Hey Greg, just wanted to let you know that I paid for parking at the races, so if you didn't we will be splitting up after getting into the park (Red lot #9).

Nice new steeds, Bros!
Cheers!
Hope you get that bike.
Pure V4 awesomeness wrapped in a sexy Italian shell.
I was looking at the Tuono also, but the sound and feel of the 848 twin won me over.
Tj.
Ed! Good to hear from you my man, glad you'll be joining. You gonna do both days? Did you figure out the oil leak?
Cool man, get that baby stitched up and we'll hit the road. tc looks like we got another camper!
I'm actually going to take Monday off I think, and make this a 3 day. Head down and do the 88/4/108/128 etc on that Monday. So it's definitely camping for me, unless we all wanna pack into a super cheap hotel.
Soooooo
tc339 (overnight)
tj (overnight)
BrianF (overnight +)
ecn (overnight)
crazy bro (Saturday, overnight pending)
I feel like we're missing some here....Thor? Stormrider? Willy? EDIT: and Frank!!
I was a little nervous about checking the site as it seems I have the same motorcycle ADD as some of you guys. The sixth gen has been replaced with an R1. I figured if I was going to be uncomfortable I might as well have awsome performance.
As for the ride, maybe. Probably just one day if I can.

Welcome to the dark side. Lol

Holy crap...and I thought you were fast before. I see a lot of waiting for the rest of the group in your future.
Always welcome to join the party though. Cross-plane and Duc w/Termis....at least we'll sound good.
