Back in Europe for my yearly ride.  This year, the logistics were a bit skewed, (seems ALL of my riding partners trailer, while I ride)

and I had to find my own way from Echt, in the Netherlands, to the campsite in Wallendorf.  I gathered my things,

grabbed my brand new (4000kms on the clock) CBR500R.  I also picked up some WIZ sliders while I was there as my new Dutch suit didnt come with any and I forgot mine at home.  The nice folks gave me a big discount as I am a repeat customer.

and went off into the wild green yonder.

Then I got lost.  I did find my way and I had a blast once I hit Luxembourg.  Great roads and a fine way to get to know the little 500. I pulled over and did a little happy dance.  When you realize that you are 4000 miles from work, on a bike in one of the prettiest places in the world, surrounded by great roads, it happens.

Nothing is worse than having to sit at work and watch someone thoroughly enjoy themselves in paradise. Good thing I'm a glutton for punishment  :beer: , send more!

Way to go Timmey! Nice suit btw...   So, why did everyone trailered their bike?? 

Only thing missing is some nice lunch pics. How's the food? Try and catch some waitresses too in the pic, just so we get an idea of the entire scenery...   :goofy:

Very f'ing nice.  The "dance" is great.  I'd be doing the same mf'ing thing.  I'd be stoked.

Enjoy your trip.  Some domicile modifications over the next 1-2 years and my funds will be opened for this and I so look forward to it.

day two was spent riding to Piesport.  Unfortunately (or maybe fortuneatly) my drift camera locked up an was unusable.  Epic ride out to the alpine road and 2 or 3 passes was enough

arrived in Piesport Cetrum for a turkeshe pizza

got back to campsite in time for beer.


Sunday was a wash, because it was pissing down with rain,  Monday we went to the Nurburgring, and thats where thisgs got exciting....................

Brevity is good, but this reminds me of my boss.  I write a couple of paragraphs in an email, pose three or four questions, and he replies: "Yes." (To what? All? Just the last one? At least he's positive ... and I usually assume "all"  :laugh: )

I was curious about the 500 too since I was thinking the parallel twin might make a good lightweight, high mpg city commuter.

yes, you are right.

A real report in a few hours.  I did put 1500 kms on it so I did get to know it before I injured it.

I would be game for this Timmy. I was stationed in Schweinfurt from 87 - 89. I had a 500 Ninja and we used to catch A-3 and buzz up to Nurnburg most every weekend. I wonder if the Green Goose is still there. Pretty much saw the whole country while there. I have wanted to return for a drive down memory lane for a long time. I do remember that it took me almost 3 weeks to get my motorcycle license when I was there. Can't remember the cost but it was worth every penny of it. Maybe you can let us know what the requirements are for that.
