New To Me 2007 Vfr800 Abs. Noob Question

Hello everyone. Long time lurker first time posting here. I recently purchased a candy red 2007 VFR800 ABS with 16,500kms (10,200 miles).  The bike is great.  It's in mint condition, since the previous owner worked for a honda dealership and everything looks well taken care of at least in my eyes.

The small question I have is that while riding say in third gear and approaching a red light, I pull the clutch and downshift. While the clutch is pulled I can hear this mechanical almost turbine like spinning sound. The sound of spinning gradually slows down and disappears.  This is while the clutch is pulled in.  I'm wondering where this sound could be coming from? I'm just wondering if something needs to be lubed. This sound only appears when I pull the clutch handle. 

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a pic of the sexy rear.  The bike has a Leo Vince dual exhaust. I love the sound!

BTW, I haven't experience the jerky VTEC engagement that a lot of people seem to hate. In fact if I didn't know the bike had VTEC I probably wouldn't have noticed any difference.

Check the tension on the chain?

That's normal, I don't know what causes it, but my VFR as well as my previous bikes have all done it.  I really only notice it in first gear.

Thanks for the reply. The sound does happen when I downshift to first. So maybe it is normal then.

Chain is within spec and lubed. 

welcome, nice bike. VTEC comes on at 7,000 rpm. Noticeable but not ourageous.

Welcome  and  your  VTEC  kicks  in  at 6800 rpm  and  its   noticeable  or  its  not  working.

Thanks guys. I think I'm just going too easy right now to notice the difference.   I think for 2006+ VTEC engages at 6,400 RPM.

When I downshift, I also pull the clutch, but only for as short as possible.

The whine I -love- hear is GDC!

I noticed the same noise only when I disengage my clutch only in first gear.
