Help With 1997' Vfr750F Solenoid Starter

Hiya guys.

I just wanted to know if one of you can help me. I have a 97' VFR750F which won't start as the solenoid and plug in that starter under the seat has melted down.

I bought the bike as a non runner and it is now "sort of" running. I can hear the love puffs coming out as I cleaned the sparks and the spark cables. I downloaded from here a wiring diagram and it helped a lot. Everything is kinda working now. I'm just waiting for the new spark plugs in the post and I also need to order the solenoid starter relay thing.

If I short those two poles I can hear the start engine going and as you can see the pictures it's not in very good shape. It has worked until a couple of days ago but I think that I manage to melt it down by using it way too much to get the engine running (yes, I held the button down for a long time - I know I shouldn't have).

My question is: Where to buy it?

I tried eBay but the pictures are all so confusing and I don't want to order the wrong things. I am trying to go on the "cheap" option because I have spent too much already with sparks, tyres, toolkit to access the damn spark plugs behind the radiator, brakes and so on. If you could send me links for the cheap and reliable bits I need (I need both the relay itself and the plug) I would be VERY thankful.

Well... I don't know what happened by the thing came back to life. I didn't do anything to it and it just works now.

Although I did order a chinese "replacement" on eBay, which arrived already, I'll just leave the original part there until it dies. I'll keep the Chinese thing under my seat just in case.

The solenoid itself looks in good shape. The problem is really the plug, but now I got a spare one and in case something happens, I'll just replace the plug.

Typically the issue is just the plug, they like to melt like that on the older bikes.  The connector is the most expensive part, so I just use a modified 4 pin instead of paying $8 more for the connector.  I would suggest at least using the new connector (if you got one with the solenoid).
