2007 Vfr Problems After Wash

Hi i recently washed my 07 vfr to get it ready for the ride and after i dried it and all i wanted to start it but when i turned the key, the gauges turned on and immediately everything went off. Then when i removed the key the clock on the gauges restarted showing 1:00. So i disconnected the battery and blowed every connection with compressed air and  left it in the sun for 2 hours but when i came back when turning the key nothing happens and after few seconds the clock turns off and when i remove the key it comes back on restarted showing that 1:00 like i would diconnect and reconnect the battery.

I checked all the fuses and everythings ok. Please let me know what can i do to make it running again, thanks

Sounds like you have a bad battery.

Or  bad connections  ...

Had a similar problem with the lawn tractor one time.  Try cleaning the terminals with a wire brush and give it a try.  May just be a bad connection.

I have the same clock issue. Changed the new battery, then it back to normal.

A multimeter should come as standard equipment in the tool kit of the VFR.  It is a definate must have.

Battery should have a smidge over 12 volts when everything is off. What do you have? And clean your bike with Honda Polish or Maxima SC1 polish or even Lemon Pledge - shooting water at switches and such is a bad idea.

Thank you for the ideas. Yeah i will go and buy a multimeter and start checking the bike this weekend. I will let you know if i find something. But i bet its ptobably going to me something stupid that causes that. Once again thanks

But about the battery the bike started right up before the wash. You think that the water could cause it to discharge?
