Wow, good thing ecn brought this up in mk2davis's NSR thread...I'd totally forgotten about it.
I'm taking off for a five week dualsport ride through the Rockies on 7/25, so are we still planning on doing this?
Given how busy I'll be once I'm back (on 9/2) it might be a good idea for someone else to take the reins...?
I'm still in but I'm still super busy from my end of April project! Change orders and delays now have me working nights trying to finish up after the client leaves for the day. Slow going for sure. I would be glad to help corral the cats in So Cal but not sure if/when I'll be able to dedicate time to doing this at the moment.
Wife and I are still planning to attend. Her bike should a new color and everything by then too!

I'm pretty much a switch hitter (not like that haha), though I'd prefer to camp.
I'll be out of PTO after my long trip, so I'll leave Friday night and get there late. Group site would be cool if everyone is up for it.

Mrs-wagzhp and I are making plans to attend with our bikes. We will be staying in a hotel. We will likely drive down Friday night and leave sometime Sunday.
The wife and I are also the hotel type (at least with our current luggage capacity). We'll come in Friday and stay at least one day, maybe two. We'll know more once we get a bit closer.
Hotel or camp ground I'm OK either way.

I may be in for this ride, pending my work schedule firming up. I'd join the SoCal guys and I'd be interested in adding a day to the front of the trip to avoid slabbing it up to Oakhurst. I'm also in for camping.

I'm in for camping. Wont really know if I can go though until I get my school schedule in mid August. If I have a test the following week it will be a no go. I would be slabbing it down friday night with Brian most likely, also.

I'm going to have to back out of this ride unfortunately. Work schedule has changed and I won't be able to get away. Really disappointed. Was looking forward to this ride since I didn't head up to Monterey this summer. Oh well.

So, figured it was getting closer and that we should probably getting a list of those still thinking of attending...
I still plan on going but still need to do some shopping for gear and some maintenance, maybe a new battery soon as well.
I also did a lot of searching, buying, and returning of raingear when I was riding back East (where, if you decided to you didn't like riding in the rain, you'd miss half the pre-winter riding season) before I finally settled on the same set-up Rogue was talking about: Big enough to fit over full leathers, big enough to put on over full leathers on the side of the road, but still cinches tight with straps and/or velcro to minimize flapping in the wind. Zips tigether at the waist to prevent leakage. I also sprung for some slip-on overboot covers too. All of it rolls pretty tightly and easy to carry.

Last year it was held in the first week in September and it was friggin hot, so even moving the date forward a few weeks would still work.

A few years ago I went to Yosemite in June and Tioga Pass had just opened.
The roads at elevation were lined with plowed walls of snow. Wow. :goofy:
But, the weather was mostly good.

Greg, you don't want to go riding around Yosemite in summer. Trust me on that. It's going to be hot AND filled with slow moving tourists in cars and buses. The best time to visit Yosemite is May because the lakes still have water in it from the previous winter. And the best scenery in Yosemite must be hiked to. You ride/drive in, then take the park bus to get to the hiking points. It's a whole day thing but damn! It's worth it. There is a spot where you go right next to El Capital peak. Wow! Talk about a bird's eye view! Whew! Beautiful!
