Shawnee Forest/southern Il Riding Recommendations

We have loose plans but are heading to the southern part of IL for some riding around the Shawnee forest. Any advice or tips? Certainly not against slighty drifting into neighboring states either.

Make sure to check out Golconda Riverview Mansion and Cave-In-Rock. Lots of good scenery and wineries in the area.
