Putting the wife's 2002 VFR back on the road after 9 months of storage. Fires right up, and everything is good until I pull in the clutch lever. There's no pressure in the lever at all - like it's hooked-up to nothing. Where's my clutch? Any ideas?

pump the lever a bunch.  It will come back.

then change fluid.

Thanks for the quick response. I just tried pumping the lever several hundred times - no change. It's acting like the clutch is not disengaging - on the center stand, with the clutch pulled in it'll drop into 1st gear and the rear wheel spins. The clutch lever isn't doing anything.

aha.  then you need to bleed it or the piston is corroded in place.


is there pressure on the lever? or does it go straight to the handle bar?

Easier  to reverse  bleed  the  clutch  slave  cylinder .

No pressure on the lever - it does go straight to the bar.

Where's the piston?  How do I free it?

Clutch master  cylinder  ..


Slave  cylinder  mite  be   loose .

Got fluid?  Is the return hole blocked inside the master reservoir?
