Removing Warning Labels Fron Fuel Tank...

Has anybody removed the warning labels from the fuel tank, and if you did was there any visible mark left behind?

I have read conflicting stories about them being under the clear coat, some say they are some say they arent.

Anybody done this?

under clear coat would be surprising. just heat it up with a hairdryer and peel it off, then use carnuba was to polish.

No clear coat on the 2010 on the stickers. Like AB-Oz said, just use a blowdrier and heat them up and peel very slowly.

heat, peel and wax............no visible marks or fading of the surrounding paint even though the decal was there for years prior to me owning the bike.

Dutchy...I thought the judge ruled that you couldn't perform any more Brazilian wax jobs.

I found some really nice pictures on that specific procedure but am pretty sure those would some some knickers in a twist here on VFRD.....   :goofy:

Heat gun or hairdryer if you don't have a heatgun.  Use low/medium setting and make sure you aim it 8-12" from the stickers.  Slowly work left to right or vice versa and peel it up.  There will be some residue left.  To get that off I spray some WD40 on a terry towel or microfiber towel and slowly work it off.  Then when you are done, polish or wax the spot.  Should look like new when you are done.
