I have found those wires, but now what? do i simply cut them from their housings, solder on a length of wire that will reach the PCV, and plug it in to the corresponding input hole? or is there more to it than that?
Speed sensor wire - tap into circuit, keeping factory circuit intact, and run wire to PCV in appropriate input. My PCV came pre-programmed for gear position for the VTEC.
I highly recommend you don't go and run "calibrate gear position" in the software (like I did) and then have to run the bike on the centre stand through the gears balancing a laptop on the handlebars!
Temperature wire - optional input needed with an Auto Tune - input a temperature set point threshold value in the PCV software to allow Auto Tune sampling above this setpoint temperature. Instead of using this option I wired in a switch that allowed me to choose when to enable the sampling period.
For a computer friendly techy geek I love my PCV and Auto Tune. Transformed the bike for me - made the VTEC transition smoother and allowed tuning the fuel map for 6th gear 40mpg efficiency. Now to get that new vacuum switch working over the winter.......
so then how is the best way to "tap" into the existing connector. I trust my skills but i also get a little nervous when i start messing with the brains of the bike. is there only one pink wire? or is there one coming out of either side of that connector? (just being too lazy to go look right now) and in that case which side do i tap into or does it not matter?
Also, i like your switch idea. forgive me, but where exactly did you wire that in? directly into the temp wire?
and finally, since I have you, did you delete the O2 sensors? is there a thread i should look at to do that? I dont know what to plug the holes with or what happens to the other two small connectors that the O2 optimizers didnt plug.
Per the FSM (thank you VFRD!) locate the pink wire on either side of the connector, in picture below, and tap into it and your length of signal wire. Weather proof your connection and run single wire into PCV "SPEED" terminal.
I wired my Autotune ON/OFF switch into the PCV "Input 1" terminals. Most difficult part was being satisfied with mounting location - think controls area for simple one finger access. Or if life is still too simple go with a vacuum actuated switch so Autotune only turns on and samples when engine is under load.
Using the PCV you must disconnect the factory O2 sensors and 'spoof' the ECM with a constant 330ohm load in each of the O2 sensor circuits. There is an excellent thread on the board regarding this. I would add a link to its location but I've used my limit of brain cells tonight just getting the picture below embedded (please remember I said computer friendly - not competent :blush: ). The O2 eliminator amounts to connecting in a 330ohm (I used 1W 10%) to the correct terminals - they should have a pair already in the box with your PCV and will connect to the bike-side of the factory O2 connectors.
And take it from me; DON'T choose to calibrate (in the software) the gear positions (unless you have to) as the procedure isn't terribly safe to do on the centre stand! Not impossible, but it could turn uTube video ugly in an instant.
I can't imagine liking the PCV as much as I do without the VFRD Power Commander downloads section. It is a fantastic resource, can't say enough about it. Excellent.

i hear what you're saying about the gear calibration being unsafe but it seems like a necessary part of the setup... is there an alternative that's worthwhile?
also i did what the istructions said about the O2 elimination, but if you look there are four total connectors running from the sensors, two for each one. what do i do with the other two small ones that are left plugged in after the O2 eliminators are used? Im getting a Delkevic exhaust and i need to get rid of the sensors completely.
Wasn't necessary to calibrate for my PCV - came already calibrated for gear position. Hopefully yours is too.
Had a chance today to check my bike; I have four connectors inside the vinyl cover located just forward and slightly below the coolant reservoir - one for each O2 sensor (=2), speed sensor (=3), and one for the side stand switch (=4 total). With the aftermarket exhaust now you don't have to worry about the sensor wires at all.
