Anyone know of a prepaid maintenance-repair plan-warranty I can get for my 2010 VFR? I checked the Honda site and there extended plan is only for bikes currently under the original warranty.

Extended warranty seems like a waste of money IMO. Not many people experiencing any problems as the miles accumulate. What is motivating you to think about an extended warranty?
Aftermarket warranties will usually $100 you to death on the deductible. To a point where you might be better off taking care of the problem yourself.
I missed the end of factory warranty by a few months when I got mine, otherwise I would've jumped at the chance at buying Honda's extended warranty. Just the rear side panel replacement will probably pay for itself.

Well, the DCT is a very sophisticated piece. Also, the fairings cost a small mint.

How are the farings covered by warranty? Seems like the only way they get damaged is by user error, warranty covers that?
some of those fairing clips are weak but they will always blame the user...no chance of getting any warranty coverage for that
On my recent purchase, admittedly across the pond so there are probably contract law differences, I couldn't take out the 'servicing deal' they're offering on new bikes, a saving of several hundred £ because you have to take the deal out when the bike is first purchased so despite only covering 146 miles, my 5-month old bike didn't qualify. Instead I went for an up-front monthly payment to the dealer to cover the costs of routine servicing up the 16k service. I can opt to continue beyond 16k if I wish at a later date. I was tempted to start servicing the bike myself as I do/did with my 5th & 6th gens but I want to keep the warrannty active so I'll leave it to the dealer, despite the extra cost.
I also have the remaining balance of Honda's 3-year warranty. I didn't opt to extend it just eyt but have the option to do so up to the end of the warranty so I'll consider it closer to the time.

I don't know of many DCT's that have failed..if any on this forum.....some of them may play up a bit due to electronic/sensor issues, but never an outright mechanical failure...My 2010 DCT was one of the first sold in Australia and it's still as good as the day I bought it, has been absolutely faultless since day one.
Come to think of it...we haven't seem much in the way of major failures at all....I think there was an engine let go in the last year or two sometime and possibly a drive-shaft... but I'm struggling to think of any others.
Fairings are only covered for manufacturer defects/faults....any other damage is more than likely accident damage or "rider induced" occurrences.
