I just want to say thank you to all of you. I sold my big VFR a couple month's ago due to some shoulder issues and the desire to move to a lighter, more old-man-with-bad-shoulders-and-a-weird-muscle-disease bike. So, for the first time since 2003, I am without a VFR. Kinda sad. I have owned 2 fifth gens, a sixth gen, and my latest and greatest 7th gen (and miss them all). They were all phenomenal bikes and I will miss them. If I ever go back to a fully faired bike, it will likely be be a gently used 5th gen.

To bad Honda doesn't bring the more upright CrossRunner VFR 800 X here. It wouldnt be much lighter but would be way more upright. I also vote for the Yamaha FJ09. Good luck!
There's nothing wrong with being without a VFR. A full-blown touring machine or a cruiser will do just fine.
Last year I took a tour of your GREAT state on my bike. I had been to Michigan before but it was the first time I saw such a significant part of it (Grand Rapids, Lansing, Flint, Detroit, Ann Arbor, Battle Creek, Kalamazoo, and a significant portion of the countryside). I might post some pictures in the Ride Reports section.
Condolences on your physical issues and for being VFRless. I imagine there must be a period of withdrawal. I'm glad you're sticking around. We can use all the input we can get.
