Day Ride April 18: Bay Area Roll Call

I'd like to go on a Spring ride with my Northern California VFR hooligan buddies. Back to the basics, you know, like the way it used to be before the format changed from "ride all day" to "ride all day for two or three days".

I propose a one-day ride, Fairfield to Hwy 128 just west of Winters. Hwy 128 West to Hwy 1, and Hwy 1 south to Mill Valley. Should be a good day. Greg and I had a blast the last time we rode this route. Except this time we ride counterclockwise from the valley to the coast.

A tentative yes for me. its up in my neck of the woods as well! 

Would love to see the old crew again! yea we definitely lost some good ones when it starting turning into multi day trips.

Only suggestion would be a detour onto Ridgecrest Blvd above Bolinas -- crazy photo ops up there.

I'm flexible about lunch, although not partial to BBQ.  Queenies Roadhouse Diner in Elk serves tasty sandwiches.

As usual, the hype and BS escalates before the ride starts.  I love it.  By April 18 it will reach fever pitch! 

Don't think Old Greg has lost much in the past 3 years, though.  Check out Youtube  "The Junction.avi" to see his post from our Mines Road ride in May, 2012. Not bad.

The list is growing:  5 riders committed and 5 tentative.

Noooo. Cant do the 18th... Starting my preceptorship in the hospital and working 12 hour night from 7pm-7am on the 17th and 18th... damn

Jeff, quick question: Why that Starbucks? It's in the middle of Fairfield and not easy to get to...?

Just to complicate things further, I think that the route map Jeff posted to start this thread started at the 3334 N Texas Starbucks, not the 1600 N Texas in the text.

What a route!  We could even meet up in Berkeley and hit Redwood Road down to Castro Valley.   I'm out of the area for the last two weekends in May, but up for May 9 or any weekend in June.   VFRD member PC1 stopped by my garage yesterday while I was cleaning the bugs off my bike.  He may be up for some rides with us, too.  Probably a good idea to start a new thread.  Thanks, Greg.    Jeff  J.

Just reading through this "topic" sounds like you all had a blast and the pictures look great! Hope to join you on the next group ride. I'll keep my eyes peeled on this site for the next trip.
