My 85 vf500f starter switch just broke at the pivot (as they seem to do). After failed attempts to glue and JB weld, I've come to the conclusion that a replacement control is in order.
My question is, do similar vf models in that gen share the same controls and connections? vf500c, vf700f, etc? It's slim pickings on ebay for the exact vf500f control. I'd like to keep it as close to original and not use a control from a newer cbr.
My 1985/86 VF500F2 controls look very mutch the same as my 1987 VFR750F controls, so can be same, but can be the wireing is not plug and play
I have the controls from my 86 VFR700 part out, do they look like they will work for you?

I had a guy who has an 85 who just took my clutch because he said it looked similar enough to work so I ownder if this would work for you as well. If it look like it PM me and we can figure out shipping info.
I finally got back on this project - sorry for the coma-like delay. Because of the scarcity of the original controls, I took a gamble and bought a VF700c control only to find out that the cable position is different for the magna. Cable lengths are different.
thewarrirorhunter, that control looks like the same cable position and starter switch. Not sure if you still have the switch but I PM'ed you.
