I,m thinking of putting on a set og Shinko 016 verge tires on my vfr 1200. Anyone else done these tires and your opinion would be a great help

Hey all, I just saw this thread. I ran the 005 rear with an old PR3 front. It worked well in the rain and gripped well, even in the canyons. I did notice that at a good lean angle and giving it gas, I could feel the rear slip a little, but it was never scary. When it was new I ran through a thunderstorm with 1" raindrops when I was coming through New Mexico. No issues, but it ws straight running down highway 40. I was running about 75mph as there was lightning and I wanted to get out of the strike zone. The profile difference between the two tires was a bad combo, but honestly, if you are just commuting/some canyons, they would work just fine, but get a pair to keep the same profile. They are a fairly flat profile tire, but still a good tire.

Pretty sure that Shinko are the old yokohama tires both on composition and tread pattern/profile

So they should be alright if paired as Lint suggests

Back in the late 80'sand early 90's  I used to run the yokohama 003's on a cbr 600 they were fine on my 140 km  daily commute over the hills

Yeah, they are. Shinko bought the Yoko molds back in the day.
