I was in the garage a little bit this weekend and found some leftover stuff from my 6th gen. I've decide that it needs to go. But the exhaust is just an awkward shape and I am at a loss as to how I would sell and ship it. If you have sold and shipped the exhaust, how did you box it up?
How Did You Ship It? 6Th Gen Oem Stock Exhaust
I found a box at work that just fit. It was for a networking switch. I padded the end pipe area, which is pretty sharp, with some dense foam that was in the box. Then I wrapped the exhaust in bubble wrap, anchored it with the remaining dense foam so it would not move around in the box and sealed the box with Scotch packaging tape. Finally, I gave it six (3 horizontal, 3 vertical) stripes of Pallet Wrap / Stretch Film to solidify the box. I shipped to Toronto and it made there unscratched.
Tossed mine in the junk metal pile behind the shop.
Sold mine on here to someone an hour away in Greeley, CO. Easiest shipping ever is when they come pick it up in your driveway! I hope it's still cruising the back roads.
Sold a full aprilia exhaust to a guy on the other coast.
Packed into 2 boxes and sent it USPS for about $50.
Just wondering if this is the header part or the cans on the end .I am in need of the header parts . Thanks Joe
expvet - That sound about like what I was thinking I would have to do. I have a box big enough, but it's going to take a lot of packing material.

lol, I just can't bring myself to do it. The cans are in great shape and that would be too wasteful!

That would be the best case scenario. Hopefully someone here lives nearby.

That's really not as bad as I was thinking it would be. The damn thing is a boat anchor!

Bad news, it's the cans past the cat. No headers.

I did the gut mod on them and I never really liked the look of the OEM's anyway. Now that I have another 6th gen, I have that OEM set stuffed deep in the back of the shop. I'll probably keep them because I can get a little more out of it by selling the Remus cans separately if I ever decide to sell the bike.
