I have a slightly damaged set of 2014 VFR800 bags without the key sets. I have purchased the key set parts and a spare blank key. I still cannot figure out how the key set locks/unlocks the handles after inspecting the hole where the key set insert into. I see under the handle how the handles can lock but not how the key set connects to the mechanism that locks/unlocks. Any and all info would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.

Ok, I already have this. This is for the VFR1200 bags and key sets. I have the bags from a 2014 VFR800, which uses a wave key setup. The keyset, once tumblers are put together, fits into a sleeve then inserts into the bags. Still does not answer the question of how it activates the lock mechanism. I will posts some pictures later.

Great pic's of a NC700 looks the same .
I just uploaded 3 pictures to my gallery of the luggage without the key sets to show the mechanism. In the closeup picture, under the small shiny spot, is a lever that seems to lock into the 2 handles. I'm not sure how the key set interacts with this lever. Will try to link the images into this post later.

I see on the NC700 setup there is a "tab" that attaches to the bottom of the keyset that rotates. I wonder if there is a part I'm missing that is not part of the keyset itself????
While I'm not familiar with the VFR1200 setup, if they are made by Givi, Givi USA is a great source for problem solutions and spare parts.

First you insert tumblers and springs into the lock, and fit your key take note of the tumblers that are extended out of the sides of the lock. Replace the tumblers that stick out with your key inserted with smaller tumblers till all of the tumblers are flush with the side of the lock with the key inserted into the lock. Then you take the lock with the key inserted into it and put the entire thing into the lock hole in the bags by lining up the tabs with the lock till you can slide the lock into the hole. Then twist the lock with the key clockwise till the lock clicks into place.
