I washed my bike yesterday so I'm expecting that to be a factor (pooled water somewhere maybe)
Turned the bike on, it lit up fine and as it was priming the injectors I pressed the heated grips button...CLICK...bike died. No power.
Didn't have time to check so jumped on my 750 and rode into work.
Reckon it's a fuse? Where abouts are they located on this bike - they're under a cover by the right handlebar on the 750.

Reckon there's anywhere obvious that could be causing a short or a known weak spot in the wiring? This is definitely electric system related.
"pressed the heated grips button" - that seems to have a cause and effect, check the fuse box and then see if you do have a blown fuse. Perhaps some compressed air blown into the switch gear to dry it out might prevent another
Righty, I don't think this is related to the heated grips. See the following video of my bike:

I think the issue is under the fuse box. Can someone tell me how I can pull it out, it seems to be stuck in there via the wires (once unclipped from the housing). I think something is shorting.
1. Give the fuse box a wiggle, it allows the bike to draw power and prime the injectors (it makes odd noises after, like a squealing almost, but it did this before the electrical issue)
2. Press the starter and it clicks and dies. Wiggling the fuse box repeats the process.
3. I can unclip the fuse box and lift it as far out the housing as the wires will allow, it'll draw power and fire. Sometimes on three, mostly on 4
4. As soon as I put the fuse box back it does the above

Wish I could help m8 but am several 000 miles from my bike and electrics are not my forte.
The Yanks should be awake soon & the Euros home from work...hopefully one of them can help.
That is behaving like a bad relay, perhaps the starter relay, found in the back by the tail light. All the other major relays are directly wired to the 50 amp mainfuse according to the wiring diagram. All the other major relays are also mounted together on the rear subframe on the left side behind the plastic rear cowl. The starter relay is by the tail light.
Thanks chap, reckon that it's definitely relay related as I can get the bike started as per the video by wiggling the 50A fuse holder around a little bit. I'm thinking a wire has frayed underneath and is shorting out, but I can't get the box out far enough to see. Can anyone tell me how to get it out? I'm assuming battery first...
Has nobody else had this issue?
