ST1100 Paneuropean stator woes

My brother owns a 94 ST1100 and he told me he had to charge his battery a lot so he wanted to buy a new one.

I told him to wait, that I'd do the drill for him 1st...

Battery tests fine but his stator/dynamo/alternator or whatever it is called around the world I think is farked.

Continuity between them 0.6Ohm evenly.

Each yellow wire to ground give OL

AC measurement across the 3 yellow wires however gives zippo, nada at idle and engine at 3,000rpm a mere 1.6V........

Any ST1100 owners here that can confirm what I read and that is that replacing it is an UTTER BIATCH, requiring removing the swing arm?

any good and fair priced sources?

$500+ at pPartzilla but gives not available

Hi Dutchy,

I don't know anything about STs, but these guys do.  There's a forum called ST1100 Tech and within it a subtopic called ST1100-Alternator--so I'm guessing you're not the first person to run into this issue!  Good luck.
