I can't find the fuel filter in the parts fiche. Not the petcock filter, but the one that resides down beside the LH frame rail.

Does anyone know that Honda part #? If it's NLA, what replacement have you found?

What year VF500?

I don't recall seeing a factory on on my VF500. The Petcock has some mesh screens at the bottom (though mine didn't) and also sometimes a "sock" over the inlet to the petcock inside the tank. (mine didn't have that either)

My old 1986 VF500 had a main line from the petcock before splitting into two lines that went to the carbs. I added inline aftermarket sintered fuel filters to these lines.

It's an '85. This is a factory filter. There's a hanger for it on the frame, and it's mentioned in the FSM service schedule and shown in several pictures.

The 86 doesn't have the pump or filter and if you change to gravity feed, the filter gets tossed. Ebay is full of in line fuel filters that will fit if you do want to replace it.
