Just judging reaction to the Invision board
#2
I think I'll end up liking it.Just have to get used to it.
#3
Works for me Miguel! No complaints so far. (I didn't say "It's alright" hehe)
It's just the internet people, come on!

I hated it when using the imported skin. I started playing around with the Invision skin a couple of hours ago and that made it a zillion times better.

I'm finding lots of new features that I like, some I don't care for. I voted "indifferent" because the things I like better on the old board and this new one (with the Invision skin) are about even right now. I think it will grow on me, and I think you will tweak things to make it even better. Keep the board. I think the overall advantage goes to Invision, especially when taking into account the stuff you have to do to make things run.

Hispanic Slammer still trying to figure out where to give you more money. If I wasn't so stupid I could probably find the donation site. Oh well you probably don't want any more donations, this site is really rocking now and won't need any for a while. :D

Love the site especially the Blue colored board easy on this old ones eyes.

Yeah fixer I am kissing up. (Not really) Words Huh? Thought you liked the heavy's don't you work on them all day?

Thanks again slammer.

It's only been a couple of days and I already like it better. IMHO you did the right thing.
Thanks again Slammer for all you do.

Ya, I hit the hate it button. Change is bad. I fear it.

Actually, once my whining is over I am sure I will get used to it. :)

Okay, I'll take the hit for being kind of slow (okay, really slow) in learning the new site. But don't blame me for Alaska. That was Uncle Sam's doing. :P

And as for Alaska....

We are starting to unthaw from first, about a week of sub zero temps. Second, the sub zero temps warmed to about 20 and that was followed by nearly three feet of snow. As a result, my poor bike just sits in the garage and looks at me.

I can't wait for my next transfer.

I'm guessing you haven't fine tuned it yet, but I like the speed. It is a lot faster running.
#11
Good job well done.
I like it - it loads faster and the look we will get use too.
The change is for the better

Cheers Wayne

im getting used to it.... :D i still miss the comfortable ol'vfrd

i voted indifferent

It ROCKS MAN!!! I LUV IT!!! hold on... I have to find those meds.... the doctor told me not to loose those... :P ;) B)

I've done programming for a few websites, and as you said this is alot easier on the server, and that translates into money, etc. I found everything pretty quickly and I like it better! Thnx Slammer for all yer hard work!
#14
As always THANKS HS for all the hard work.
I know this will only be a change for the better, but I'm hoping this is not our final home page. I really liked the pictures, Ride stories, and many other features found on our last Home Page.
Today is much better than yesterday and I hope ease will improve over the next few weeks for computer dummies like myself.
I still don't have the skill to post a avatar pic on the new site, web hosting a URL address or something. <_<
Is this the final look of the home page ?
What the hech are Tags, do I need to know ?
My only posted picture took 30 sec. or more to download and it was small.
I'm trying to figure it all out.
I am positive that this site will continue to be the Very Best VFR site out there thanks to you Miguel ! (bowing icon)

I like it, and it's not to difficult to get use to. I would copy the Invision skin and just change the header to a VFRD header. Things I perferred on the old board:
Seperate blocks for "replying to" and "replying from". Ability to upload avitars from our harddrives. Startup page had way more stuff.

That is all, everything else is good.
#16
I like it.

It took awhile to get used to but all is good now.
#17
Mostly positive changes. Overall improvement. Is like everything else, will impeove over time and feel just like home.
#18
also need a way to link back to the forum or new post from the bottom of the pages so you dont always need to scroll back to the top
#19
Look good to me, and if it runs faster and cheaper, that's a good thing. I like the blue better than the other skin. Just needs a banner, and some of the old emoticons back, and the front page. Even though I usually just go straight to view new posts. Take your time Miguel. :D

I generally like it so far, I'm starting to get used to it. But the biggest hit with me is the ease of posting pictures into the site in the members gallery!
Thanks HS! :D

Love it!!!!

found everything that I use with a minimum of fuss and time, quicker than i remember having to find stuff the first time I joined!!!

Gallery is a great feature that I am sure everyone will use and it does run so much faster.

Well done Miguel and knowing you there is more to come!!!!

The fast post idea is very cool......

:D
#22
I like it alot. Uploading pics much easier and the mailbox is easier to navigate as well. Great job Miguel.
#23
I like it a lot, as I said in a PM to our board CEO...
Back when I registered, last fall, and up to a few days ago, I wasn't even lurking, because of the many, many sub-forums. (And the new post button is kinda useless if you only check in once a month...)
But now, with the new software's tools (especially "My Assistant"), checking out topics I've authored and a more frequent use of the "new posts" button make one heck of a good difference.
Thanks...

I kept trying to access the old site and finally it dawned to me that it was moving, my fault. I do agree that it loads faster, as far as better or worse, don't have a opinion yet. I just am thankful to have it :D . I finally did add avaitar, it's my bike sleeping in my house, thank goodnes I have a understanding wife!
#25
It's just fine....needs some of the cool pics again though
#26
It works. I just have to get used to differences and figure out how to find things I used to know how to find before. It's just like at work. :(
#27
I'm getting used to it, but I miss the start up page with the recent posts on the old site.
#28
I didn't really like it at first, so I voted "Indifferent", but over the last few days, it's MUCH better. I'm kinda digging it now!
#29
Can tell you have been putting a lot of effort into it. Gets better everyday.

Well things I have done so far

fixed a bunch of memberships that cant log in - way too many

Installed a better portal

put in vfrd banner

played around with new skins havnt found one I like yet

Found the subscription manager that came with the message board for donation purposes, looking for a better one

Installed old avatars but some are too big deleteing overly large avatars

found a new classifieds manager that integrates right into the message board figureing out how to covert the old database may combine the links and classifieds into one modual

still lots of things to fix but the portal is a lot like the old one should enjoy that.
