Some classic lines in there, but if you read between the lines you'll get the hang of what they are trying to say.

VFR/CBRXX/SP3 anyone?

Notice the way the writer talks about the VFR's hallmark being "balance" something that I think we all agree is way we love 'em...

Through in a 1000/1200cc V5 and you will destroy that balance.

Also that sales for the vtec are not as good as the previous model.

HEY HONDA..

YOU LISTENING.....!!!!

In my humble opinion I don't want any more than 120 ish HP in a good handling package that is comforable, can carry pillions well is reliable and relatively cheap to run.

Simple Mr Honda.

Oh

and gear driven cams.... dry.gif

Do you want that at the rear wheel or just the engine to make that much power?
The 954 makes aprox 130ish at the rear wheel and that is some nice riding power. Just not as comfortable. The FJR supossedly makes around 125 at the rear wheel. Too heavy and not as flicable.
Yeah I'd say it would be nice to have about 125 in a package similar to what we have now weight and size wise.

120BHP V4, handles as well if not better than the current 6th gen VFR......definitely don't want to give up any of the handling in exchange for power or anything else for that matter.

So for me......1000cc V4, 120 BHP, awesome handling, equivalent ergos, similar looks.....I'd be a happy camper

did any of you read the link?

Actually makes for good reading... smile.gif

yeah I took the time to read (and load the kinda humorous translation smile.gif ) the link. Okay here's my bet, Honda is gonna come out with a knock yer socks off v5 vfr! The reason I know this? cuz I can't afford to buy one!! lol

Someone else was saying that the cbr's will stay as inline 4's, as is their tradition. That leaves the vfr to be the one getting the v5, it just seems to be such a perfect match, I almost hope that it isn't too sweet of a bike, I'll be too damn jealous when I see one blink.gif

Just give me the gear driven cams back. I don't know why, but I just love that aspect of the older V4s. rolleyes.gif and no VTEC. Maybe in my Accord, but not my bike.

They should simply keep the bike as is except for the engine and a slight stiffining of the suspension. Make it a 900 or 1000cc, V5 bike with 135 bhp at the crank. That would give us 115-118 bhp at the tire. If they can keep the weight at or below 500 lbs this would be a real winner. They should also expand the dealer installed options list by a great margin for the bike. Call it a VFR 900/5 or a VFR 1000 SV5...The S would stand for street. cool.gif

Does sound logical as the VFR has been Honda's techno flagship bike....I've heard this same line of thinking from a few sources.

A 1000cc V4 with 120 BHP would be just dandy.

More power, Less weight.
Tastes great, less filling.
I'll believe it when I see it.
Until then it's all BS.
Mmmm... Bee Ess. rolleyes.gif

I want the 140 at the front wheel huh.gif

But you are forgetting about the old V-twin - the Sp1 and Sp2.

Remember the bike that won the 2002 world superbike championship!!

It is also due for replacement

as I said before

Sp3 anyone??

It's fun to speculate......

It looks like we are all in agreement, 120 plus HP, less weight, and no reduction in handling. Sign me up. biggrin.gif
