I'm thinking about riding around Lake Superior sometime this summer.
Is 4 days too short?
Are there any especially good places to stop to eat and\or spend a night?
What are the best roads?

:wheel: I live in MIchigan. When u say ride around Lake SUperior, do you mean literally? U could do it in 4 days but u wouldn't see anything. On the Michigan side there's lots to see.Marquette is fun(lots of Finns, bars & saunas). Must see Pictured rocks National park.(be ware that the park road is dirt but hard pack) The Soo locks are cool. If have time, Isle royale is a must(lots of wolves).

Heated grips would be nice even in summer. Also serious black biting flies at certain times. Take DEET, not that cheap stuff.
Have fun

I think four days is to short, A few of us had a great trip a coupe years ago and we did it it 6 days. Theres a nice little place eat and stay in Grand Malais, Mi and you got to stay in Copper Harbour,Mi and dont skip Bettys Pies just north of Twin Harbours Mn. good food and the best pies! Stop at Aerostich in Duluth neat riding stuff there. Spilt Rock Light house is a neat site, also just north of there Parasade head cliffs is neat. and many other neat places to see and some good short hiking trails to some neat water falls, and theres spectacular views in Canada.
It was one of my favorite trips ever, enjoy take a lease 6 days.

That's a ride I have in mind as well... Ottawa-Soo, on Hwy 17, then north around the lake to Duluth to figure out what size of 'stitch I need, then back on the south shore of Superior to the Soo... Time to fire up S&T to figure out distances/number of days...

Hey Corbeau,

I was planning on doing a week long trip this summer, still not sure if I'm going east or west of Waterloo.

I have family up in Sudbury, which HWY 17 runs thru, you may see my tailights or my headlight.

Have you planned a date yet?

Daryl, what's you ETD,

Jay
