Laser install questions

I've tried to look through the forums as extensively as possible to answer two questions I have about installing my sweet new Laser system. I've come up empty and am hoping that the VFR Collective can help...

1. They come with a note that says the entire exhaust should be degreased with "white spirit" before the engine is started. What is "white spirit"? Is it turpentine? And should I get it all installed then degrease it or should I degrease it all then install it?

2. Have any of you folks that have installed your own Laser system used the "street legal" inserts? Are they too quiet? It seems that folks are mostly using the louder "Sport" inserts and, while I want more/better sound than stock, I don't want it deafening or obnoxiously loud.

While the inserts don't look like TOO much of a PITA to change, it still involves removing the slipons and I'd rather get it right the first time.

Any input is greatly appreciated!

Best,
Rob

If you could take a pix of the inserts I would love to see other options for quieting my TBR pipe down a tad.

Right on, thanks Snafu.

Pillowsplat, I think I saw a post here with the diagram they include with the instructions... should have a good view of the restrictors.

I installed my Lasers over this last weekend and I don't like the way they mount. Don't get me wrong, they look awesome, but they have way to much flex and the honda hard bag bracket doesn't fit. I even had the bracket for the bags. I called Forest rad and they said that there was a bad bunch of the early ones that had a bad collector pipe and they would replace it. I did feel the added weight of the lasers over my staintunes. Thinking about going back to the tunes and giving the lasers back. The only thing going for the lasers is the looks. Sorry my two cents.
