I have the 2 Bros "Stash" which is really a 4-into-1 with a falsey hanging on the left. It's not overly loud. I think it sounds great. My CBR with a D&D is louder.

Just make sure you repack it every year. 2Bros burns thru the packing like a raped ape. That will help with the sound issues. I didnt repack mine for 2 years and it was starting to sound like a Nascar V8!
I've got the Two Brothers aluminum on my 95. Not loud at all,...in fact I had a neighbor thank me and comment on how "nice" it was. It helps to have another neighbor a few houses down with a Harley though,.....puts things in perspective. I really like the sound, gives the V4 a voice, but not an obnoxious one.

Haven't repacked mine in 3 years, it's not any louder.
All vfr's with cans are pretty loud. Great sound, you bet, but loud. The 2bros is medium in volume from the comparisons I've been involved in. My son's fzr has a carbon fiber 2bros. It never seems to get hot on the outside like alum or stainless. However, if you notice the outside getting hot, that means the packing is gone in that area. As far as how to pack: remove the outer core. Clean the inner core. Wrap new fiberglass tightly and put masking tape around it in several places to assist you in putting the outer back on. Put the fasteners back in and you're done. Packing is available from manufactuers, cycle supply companies, most dealers.
I have Two Bros alum C4 low lefty mount. It sounds cool but it is loud. I would guess in the 100 db range at Max. I would like to hear somebody else drive it by the house ( not a crook ) just to see if it how it dissipates over distance. Repacking Hispanic Slammer has a wonderful how to repack in the 'how to section' Get a new 1/8" drill bit, packing material, pop rivet gun and pops. Reuse the steel wool that's in the pipe just clean it out. I was toying with idea of putting one of my old front shock springs in the pipe to throw the the sound into the fiberglass a bit more and scrub off another 10-15 db. Day dreaming is always fun.

just spent $970 (canadian) get it ready for this year. nearly crapped myself when the shop told me the total.\ - tire install (already bought new pilot roads) - full tune-up (4 hours) - one carb was "stuck"?? - oil and filter (semi-synth) - new chain and sprocket (3 teeth up in back) - forks drained and cleaned then heavier oil put in (prob the original oil was still in - just like black water)

I have a Two Bros. C4 aluminum low mount which I installed three years ago. The sound is great and only becomes "semi-loud" over 6000 rpm, so I warm it up, below that, through the neighborhood at 6:00am until I reach the open road. The neighbors actually say they like the sound. Of course they have to hear it to like it, so it's not like I am sneaking by them. The decibel level sort of "creeps" up on you if you don't repack every couple of years. Great sound IMHO. Great product, a good fit and ez install.
at speed I hear more gear whine than exhaust, w/ my 2-Bros carbon (I think the tag on the can says "Competition 2")....One of these days I think I'm gonna swap the pipe out and get the 'high mount' setup.. just looks cooler, I think.

By the way, I recently checked the 2 bros web site, and it seems they no longer sell the LEFT side pipe and cannister! I was going to pick it up as this year's mod. Anyone know if these are available anywhere (for the '97)?
I have a C-4 on my 94...I only can say that it sounds really cool at idle...I've never heard it from a distance. when hard into it the gear whine chimes in :wheel:

My 03 with the 2Bros "stash" sounds GREAT! All my buddies with their inline 4's are jealous. It does sound like a wound up NASCAR engine but that's what I like about it! Don't know how old mine is as it was on the bike when I bought it but if the packing's gone, it will stay gone forever! Love the sound too much!

SWEET!!!! Maybe I need to take packing out of mine. For the most part, I think it is all opinion. If you like it loud, let it get loud. If you like it quiet, replace the packing. Its all up to the rider.

I think you can either re-route the pipes yourself, or check ebay. I would think that making a left side exhaust shouldn't take more than a quick visit to an exhaust specialist or a fabricator. Don't know much about power-loss, though, but I don't think an extra inch or so of metal will hurt much.
I'd love to hear if a left side exhaust can be done without losing your passenger pegs. Riding two-up is half the fun, especially if you're like me and use the bike to pick up women.
Damn. That is gorgeous. Can I envy you? First, I have some questions:
1. I notice that the exhaust touches the swingarm. Does this result in heat transfer problems? If they don't touch, then do you have a reduction in lean angles? Did you fabricate your own extension, or did you purchase the left exaust as part of a kid?
2. It looks as if you removed the center-stand. I want to do this, but am not sure how to get the bike up on jacks with only one swingarm. How does this work?

The stock pipe is a boat anchor for sure,....throw it away as far as you can. Unless you have a daughter with Barbies,...in which case Ken just delivered a new water heater!
