What a BLAST!

What a great group of people!

Started the morning, meeting Wolverine at 11:00. Road out of Ann Arbor on a few twisties. Thanx again, wolverine. Great guide.

We picked-up Bunsel, in Jackson. (Hope you had a good ride the rest of the way back.)

Made it up to Meijer, 'bout 1/2 hour early. (Good time). Snacks, pee, re-fuel.
Wait. LOL.

Cometh, the riders. Introductions,..good to put faces with names, now there's 2 names to remember, LOL. Set the clock?

After some guidance from Westmi., we ride. :)

Ride was nice. Beautiful day. Lots of dead things. (This is the time of year, when all the dead things come out.) Wanted to cover the back, don't want to slow everyone down. That's what I'm used to, come'n from a '81 Maxim. "Hey guys, wait up!" LOL. To Grattan. Mustangs, and Dodges race'n 'round. Line-up for a pic? How? LOL. Sorry, Mr.frugal. Said " Natural Born Killers", Was think'n, Reservoir Dogs. Mr. Blond. LOFL!

To the next. Congratulations, MSUNICKB, This is 'bout where you passed your 400mi. mark. More mod discussion. Find out more 'bout folks. RIDE!

Now for the ride to food. Felt soooo good to put he miles on with good people. Couple of fuzz, twisties, Upp'n'n'down'n. Food. We get to the restaurant, Mr. Frugal, enters. The rest of us, are talking outside. 10 min., or so pass. To the riders, the waitress on the porch, yells, "Mr. Frugal is hungry, it's time to eat!" LOFL!!!! Is that quote correct, fellas? Memory isn't what it used to be. Look out MSUNICKB! LOL.

Food and laughter. Sorry to the waitress, who served us. I directed MSU, to the back, corner table, away, but next too the little square table and round table pushed together, for us to sit at. Wasn't think'n. Lots of room needed, with jackets 'n such, to spread out. How do I know that table, wasn't reserved. Sorry MSU, Drag you into my non-think'n-ness. Oops.

We say our good-byes, after more great discussion. WOLVERINE, BUNSEL, and I Blast for 96. Bunsel busts south @ Jackson, (again, hope the wind was at your back, the rest of the way.) And to the rest of you, WESTMI., MSU, ASPHALT, RICHIE. Sorry if my, "left lane clearing", threw 'ya. Used to being in back. LOL. Thanx for showing me some of the backroads, in my own back yard, Wolverine. Hope you did well on the last of yours, too.

Great ride. Iff'n you guys want, sometime, we could hit it out my way, then do some steaks! LOL. Tired. Going to bed. Got 200mi. to put on tomorrow, look'n at a '82.

Thanks again for a great time. Now I can tell my friends, "The first people I met on line, were guys". LOL. "Not that there's any thing wrong with that."

Later,

RIV.

P.S. Can' seem to get the pics to up-load. Putt'n them in new gallery file.

Just checking in to thank all of you Michigan guys for a good ride and great hospitality. Made it home just at dark. After heading south @ Jackson, had to tame it down a little since Hudson is noted for being a speed Trap. Also, as noted on the trip over, a lot of wildlife on the road (dead) helps keep a guy in check as well. :deer:

Ended up with 344 on the clock for the day. It was fun being with a group of viffers since I am the only one in my neck of the woods that rides one. Seven VTEC'S to boot. What's the odds of that happening?

If any of you guys would like to see some of Ohio's better roads, you're more than welcome to join up with us when we head to the southeast. It's 5 hours to get to the roads so with a group, would have to be an over night thing. I make the run by myself, but that's 15+ hours in the saddle, with little time at stops. Anyone interested, let me know as we are planning a ride tentatively for the second weeked in May.

Again, thanks to all for allowing a "Buckeye" to ride along.

Until next time, keep the rubber down! :wheel:

Hey Guys! What a wonderful day to go for a ride with a great bunch of fellow Interceptor riders! As stated before, it is nice to be able to put faces and real names to some of the guys here on the VFRD. Seven VTEC's, I didn't really expect that, and four different exhaust systems, too! Stock, Micron's, Lasers and 'tunes. I really enjoyed seeing how everyone has "personalized" their rides. All the mods promped much discussion all day.

I must appologize to everyone for my somewhat tentative riding style. This was my first time leading a group, and only my second group ride. It was also only my second real ride of this season, so am still a bit (a lot) rusty. I'm sure glad I didn't drop the bike when I stalled it, leaving Fallasburg Park! I'm a little surprised I saved it from falling over, but very glad that I did!

I was a bit thrown off my planned route when we came up on the gravel road towards the end of the ride. It forced me to improvise a little, so the end of the ride turned out a little different than what I had layed out, but hey, we got to see some of Michigan's finest prisons! LOL

The Corner Landing Resturant near Ionia is a great place to eat. It seemed everyone enjoyed their food.

Our ride back to the west (Grand Rapids and Holland) was without any surprises. Just slabbing on I-96 west. Richie led the way, with Mr. Frugel, MSUNICKB and myself following behind. It was kind of nice being in the back for a little while! I must admit I felt a little out-of-style riding the RED VFR following three Asphalt ones! :salesman: The only thing that sucked was having the setting sun in our face all the way home. Richie set a great pace, and we made quick work out of many a cager!

Thanks for the many compliments on my bike. Hopefully by the next time we get together, I'll have the front wheel polished, and the hard bags installed. This group of VFRD members confirmed what I had expected all along. We're a group of mature, sensible and friendly riders. Heck, when you have a group with Wolverines, Spartans, and Buckeyes, together, and everyone gets along, that's pretty good!

Until next time, ride safe!

I agree...great time and great people. I had a blast. Like WM said I'm also new to the group ride (well, I guess all rides really) and I had a great time. I was concerned that I'd be holding people up and from what I could tell, I think it went well.

I'd love to hook up with you guys again sometime. Anytime really. Sometimes work gets a bit crazy and play time suffers but not too often.

Thanks again to all of you, it was a pleasure meeting you.

Until the next time...

:D Hey Nick,

Thanks for posting the pics from yesterday. I sure had a good time. We'll have to get together again and do some riding. One of my favorite rides is heading west on Leanord Street out to Spring Lake. I think that would start from out in your neighborhood.

I'll try to post another photo ..........

Hey, just so you Michigan folks know it, I had my screen name changed from jleberhart to Lobster. Not that you're really worried about it, but I would still like to join you for a ride one day and I don't want you to think I bailed on you. I'm still the same super slow, super fat, super nice guy on the Silver VFR that I was before!
