Hello I have recently purchased a 95 vfr 750 interceptor it’s been running great so far but I’ve had a few problems and wanted to ask the forums for some advice
one thing I wanted to ask first is when turning on your 4th gen vfr is there a significant whirring sound you hear for the fuel pump as in my 2007 ninja 650 you can hear the humming of the pump before starting the bike but on my vfr I don’t hear anything.
i was cruising down the highway at about 70 miles per hour when I lost all power to the bike it just started bogging down and no mater how much throttle I have it it wouldn’t go and ended up dying on the side of the freeway I got it home and replaced the batterie after trying to bump start it for a bit the electrical systems just when completely dead try to turn it over and just hearing clicks. After replacing the battery it started up no problems. After the battery replacement it has been idling high after running for a bit somewhere between 2-3500 rpm I’ve adjusted the idle screw which has brought it down.
since it’s ran again which I go out every other day to start it for about 5-10 minutes to keep the fluids moving. While riding there are moments between first and second gear where the bike starts to chug along while accelerating only happens when giving it some throttle instead of smooth throttle I get this kinda lunge where it feels like towards the back wheel it’s almost skipping.
between the dying on the highway issue and the skipping issues I was hoping to hear some advice and or similar problems and the solution y’all took to fix them. I’m already looking at replacing the fuel pump and fuel filters. With the potential of cleaning my injectors (which I plan on doing soon anyways just wasn’t my first step due to the process to get to them) also wanted to check out my throttle assembly in case I’m missing something on that end.
thank you for your time and reading this long question.
