ANY VFR TIPS

Have a 1990 VFR750 runs great 44,000 km's and was wondering is there anything that should be done other than the basics...oil, plugs, filters to keeper running tip top ??

Is the bike new to you? That age, with those turns on the clock, you might be looking at a bit more than oil, plugs and filters.
Suspension parts probably need an overhaul
Front wheel and steering head bearings are common issues and should be checked.
If the R/R hasn't gone (and is still stock) go ahead and plan for it's replacement. Check the battery while you are at it.
Definitely need to replace the clutch and brake fluid.
Chain and sprockets MAY be coming up soon, depending on the care they have received (and assuming the bike is already on it's second set).
Carb sync. If you have the tools and time, I'd do it every season change. If not, once a year is probably enough (I've not looked up the maint cycle on that - for shame).
Last but not least, the valve checks are pretty darn important. Most folks report no adjustment needed until right about where your bike is, distance wise.

Sounds like a lot, and it is. 15 year old bikes require a bit of love.

thanks the advise clutch was just done and i think i'll tackle the front end next wheel bearing and headset.....valves you say i will look into that thanks for the tips fing02.gif

RIDE IT!!!
Best thing for any bike is to keep it running. I believe that Batterys and Regulators last much longer with regular use.
It also helps with seals and gaskets to be run regularly.

I was just going to say exactly that!!

try not to be a weekend rider - taker her to work, play and tour - she will love you for it.

My 1994 has just turned over 146000km with no only regular servicing and maintenance, hell I only changed the clutch 6000 ago, on my 5th chain / sproket set and fitting my 4th set of brake pads today.

I'm out in Chilliwack. A few of us organized a VFR ride a few weeks back and had a good turnout and a good ride. I've got a newborn in the house right now, but look for another ride on bcsportbikes.com before too long.

BTW, I've got a '93 with 165000km--yours is just getting broken in!! beer.gif
