Ah, the sound....

I couldn't stand it any longer, so out came the credit card...I purchased the Staintunes from www.sporttour.com for $699-, plus $10 shipping.
I installed Staintunes on my beemer 20 years ago and they still look and sound great--and these new pipes don't disappoint either-great fit and finish.
Dealing with the saddlebag mounts was a PITA while installing the pipes. But, after a short 50 mile ride this morning....ahhh, the sound! goofy.gif

Sounds like you got a good deal at $699. They had gone up to almost $900 or so a year or two ago.............they do sound great don't they!

Nothing sounds quite as good as a VFR VTEC with the Staintunes. Wife got me a set last year for my birthday. Think I will keep her. wink.gif

Good call on keeping her. Sounds like you may want to stay with the wife for a bit longer too, especially if your next birthday's not far off!

Yup, I've got a keeper, too! After a spirited ride (her on her F650GS--a sleeper canyon carver!) she commented that the VFR sounded like a sewing machine--she thinks the VFR might need a new set of pipes!!---- 20 years together and she still amazes me!

So with the Staintunes exhaust you can still use the hard luggage bags from Honda? That is the one answer i cant find. I wont be able to get any exhaust if i cant use the mounts for the bags. So the mounting brackets for the bags bolt on easily as before with the stock exhaust?

Staintunes will work with the bags. Remus and Leo Vince will also.

You can use hard bags with an eliminated fender, I do it.

I think the staintunes on my VFR750 are not loud enough (with no baffles in). Are there any other brands that are louder ? I'd like something that will set off car alarms as I go by goofy.gif

Still deciding between Staintunes and Remus. Both seem to have received pretty amazing reviews here on VFRD. I also have the OEM bags so an acceptable fit is important to me. It appears as though the fit and finish/reliability of the Staintunes is their biggest attribute, while the rumble that comes from the Remus pipes is the one thing that has many turning to their brand? Is this a mischaracterization fellas'?

Sorry I do not have pics, but remember seeing pics from someone else on here before I did it. I am using the Comp Werks elim kit, so my rear fender is totally gone. The hard bags bar that would normally attach to the fender is just there alone not attached to anything but itself. I trimmed the license plate bracket on it down, so it is now just one solid bar across the back. Works great!
