Ordered My Staintunes

Here we go, will try and install myself. This site inspired me to try. I can do it, I can do it, I can do it.

If it is as easy as a 5th gen you can do it. Plus when you hear the sound that your new tunes make, that $800 bills you spent will not be such a large concern. Congrats and enjoy that V4.

The Staintunes are very easy to install and when you start your bike, you will be very happy with the sound the VFR makes. They even look better than the stock pipes also.

You'll be happy with the sound. I run mine with the restrictors off and really am happy with the sound. When you get them be aware that there is a little indent in the pipe on the throttle side - its there to clear the plastic. Sorta freaked me out when I got mine and saw it - staintune doesn't make you aware of it.

Looking through the old posts, seems like a pretty straight forward install. I have never done anyhting like this before, but like I said after reading through some past positngs from this site I will give it a shot...

I am not the most mechanically inclined person on the planet by any stretch of the imagination, and thought the installation was pretty easy.

As said before, do not be alarmed by the small dent on the right side pipe.....it is supposed to be there. It is just before the can.

Be sure to remove the gasket material from the stock pipe coming from the catalytic converter. It may come off with the stock pipe, it may stick to the catalytic pipe. The instructions that come with the pipes are pretty good. I thought removing the stock system was harder than putting the new one on, but it was all pretty simple.

One small tip.....before tightening everyting down, adjust the cans so they look even from the rear, then tighten everything up and check again.

Don't bother with the restrictor spuds........take them out and let that sweet V4 sing!!
