High guys, this is my first post on this forum. I only upgraded from my '85 VF500FII Miniceptor three weeks ago (still have it, it's looking for a good home in Southern England if anyone's looking. Refurbished four years ago and very nice condition with 47,000 ish on the clock).
Anyway, I bought a 93 VFR750FL RC36 (as my log on name shows). It's light metalic blue and silver in colour and has been very well kept. It came fitted with a Scottoiler, progressive rate fork springs and and adjustable rear shock.
On Tuesday I received a new Scorpion E-marked "Road Legal" (European and UK) can. It's got a removable baffle similar to the Staintune cans and is very well made. However, it's only �169.00 (GB Pounds) compared with �320.00 or so for the Staintune.
As you may have expected, the removable baffle was immediately removed and put into my tool box.
biggrin.gif The sound is very nice. A nice deep rumble at idle and a baritone howl on acceleration. It's lively without being anti-social and that's good as I don't want to attract unwanted attention from the police but I feel it's criminal to mute the growl of a V4. Maybe I'm biased, but ever since I heard a mate's '91 with a race Micron some 7 years ago, I have yet to hear a better soundtrack from a bike. V-twins (Ducatti, SV's, Honda SP1 etc) have their place, but a V4 is best. biggrin.gif
So, if anyone is considering a Scorpion, then consider no longer. As my wife put it when I asked what she thought of the sound, "my lingerie elastic didn't break, but that's only because it's made in Germany". blink.gif She also thinks the exhaust has turned me into a 31 year old child, but that's another subject
So there you go. Beautiful sound and snapping lingerie elastic. Life is good!
