After reading all the excellent reports on the Staintune under seat system for my rather quite and dull sounding 2002 VFR, I am sold on buying a set from "Sport Tour Ltd" but I still have one burning question regarding heat. I usually ride solo but once every few weeks when the weather is perfect, my wife loves to ride shotgun. My question is pretty simple - do the pipes get hot enough to make a passenger uncomfortable.

Life is a balance and I have to make the right decision.

Any help with this burning issue will be appreciated.

I don't know about staintune, but with my V&H that I stuffed under the seat, I found it only marginally warm after a long ride.

Don't know about the tunes, but my rider complained about more heat from the Remus system than with the stock exhaust. I like the way the bike looks with the seat cowl now.

I've had 'tunes on for about 17,000 miles. After a number of multi-hundred mile trips, my very significant other has never complained. I asked once, and she said, "Really? I didn't know the exhaust is under the seat."

So, is your very significant other a numb ass, or a dumbass?

Am I banned or in serious trouble now? huh.gif

Careful there mate, or we'll start in with the Aussie / sheep jokes. Ever seen a South Texas Boxing Glove ? It'll leave a hole in you you could toss a dead 'roo through...
If she's riding with a VFR rider , chances are she's a hotass . ( with or without the underseat exhaust )
No charge for this one ,vfrjim .

Do it! Make with the Aussie/sheep jokes, especially the ones about the velcro gloves, and whatnot. fing02.gif

Ahhh I see you are pinned in OZ, but are a Kiwi...that's even better.
I was through there a couple of years ago, was riding around just after arrival, admiring the great scenery when out in a pasture in broad daylight was some guy with a sheeps hind feet in his boots, giving her a good seeing after.
THIS calls for a drink - the first pub I came across was dark inside, as my eyes are acclimating I see a man with one leg sitting in the corner having a wank !
WTF kind of a country is this I asks the keeper - first I see a guy shagging a sheep in sight of a main road, now this guy's whuppin it in a bar !
Fair go mate, you can't expect a one legged man to catch his own sheep .

Ka mate ka mate ka ora ka ora

Uh, you're like, not from here, are ya?

Seriously, I thought I was the only one who heard about the floppy boots in NZ...

An American, an Italian, a Kiwi and an Irishman are out hiking, when they come across a sheep trapped in a barbed wire fence.

The American says "Man, I wish that was Marylin Monroe!".

The Italian says "Ahh, I wish she were Sophia Loren!".

The Kiwi says "I just wish it was dark!".

The Irishman says "What, a black sheep?".
