I Want This Exhaust. Which On Is It?

I must have this exhaust when I get my VFR. I finish school in December. At that point my wife has given me the ok to get a new bike... woohoo! Someone help me out. Anyone recognize this sound or know whos bike this is?

Quiet and high pitched, not IMO, I think they sound awesome. There is a video clip I saw the other night that gives an idea, but you can't tell without hearing in person. If you ever want to make a trek down to Lutz (north of Tampa at I75/I275 split you can hear mine.

I used about half a tube of high temp copper RTV in the left can and then "caulked" the joint between the can and the pipe with RTV and it is rock solid now. wheel.gif

they look to big to be staintunes. I'd say they are Micron's.

Jeremy556, could you elaborate on your use of RTV when putting your new Staintunes together. I will be recieving a set next week and was under the impression that they are a high quality product, but your post does not re-enforce that thinking for me.

Are the joints that loose, what prompted the use of RTV ? Can you audibly hear leaks or see soot/carbon buildup forming where the leaks occur ?

And lastly, "rock solid" ... is the mounting and fit not so good ?

sorry, but I am somewhat concerned and more than a little curious.

They look like microns, you can see a small embulm above the outlet, micron is the only brand that has this I believe.

The instructions tell you to use the RTV when connecting the cans to the pipe. At first I didn't, as I didn't have the specified type of RTV. The right can was pretty tight, but the left can was loose and could move around somewhat freely, although there was no leak. Today I used the RTV sealant and they are solid. Nothing to worry about I don�t think, they are made to fit together and then be somewhat flexible to fit the mounting points and to get everything lined up right.


Once you see how they look and hear them uncorked you will have no doubts musik20.gif

Could it be that they sound real similar? Blasphemy, right? LOL

IMHO most of these VFR aftermarket exhausts sound very similar in recordings. After finding the Micron photo I'm convinced that's what they are. Notice the dark weld around the front and rear end caps. 'Tunes are all polish. Also, you can just make out the bottom edge of the Micron logo on the top edge of the left can. The hanger strap is definitely Micron- notice the irregular hole pattern. I'm thinking these are just polished cans instead of the matte finish in the Micron photo.

One question though: Two Brothers only uses one can. The second is for looks (and storage only). How do they sound??

Thinking Microns also due to the sound, mounting position is lower and further out, and they seem to have a satin finish...... But I'm not seeing the hangers, which makes me think tunes.

Phantom, you say you know this cat? Hmmmm. Are those an early or Aussie version? Been googling him.

Hands down, in real life, Microns are the throatiest. Tunes have a bit more tin to them. (They are longer, and I think a slightly smaller diameter).

Don't have the rolled outlet tips like the 'Tunes either.

Way too pixelated but you can almost see the strap in this frame. Plus they stick out past the taillights so I guess my initial response was WRONG!!

Totally agree. I was kinda leaning the micron way myself. They sound friggin awesome. Must have them. Damn its gonna be a long way to December.... sad.gif I wonder if those will work with factory or even the givi hard cases......

Let us know if you can find them. Worth there weight in gold, (or gas). LOL.

It has been told that there are only a handful, in the U.S., and they are no longer available. (Haven't done the research myself, as I intend on modding the crap out of the stockers).
