to properly polish the frame on the VFR you have to remove the anodizing off of it. the brushed appearing metal that you see is NOT really brushed. its a coating that has the appearance of brushed.
use some easy off oven cleaner on it and let it sit for about a half an hour and it will all come off.
just be sure to mask everything you are NOT polishing.

I've got a better tip: Don't do it! (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/goofy.gif) No, really good tip, but:
I polished my wheel lips, peg brackets, a chainguard I made, and various other bits on my F4i, and while it all looks great(and IMO better than chrome), it is a total B!tch to keep clean.
If I were going to polish a frame, I'd strip everything off it(hardware and coatings), polish and then have it powdercoated clear. Maintaining a paint-like surface is so much easier than bare metal!

Yup. Paint, (or plate). Build up, not down. Less is more definatly applies tho this senario. LOL. If you're in a fair weather state, are more anal than me, and have the time, (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/+1.gif)
