Even after paying $200 for shipping, you now have a set of hardbags for $580! That's $420 cheaper than MSRP at the dealerships.
Keep in mind, this is the 2005 color red, not the same color red used from '02 to '04.

Lots of members here have bought the panniers from DSS and had them shipped to their door, all taxes and fees included, for far less than you could stroll down to the Honda dealer a block away and get them for.
That's with shipping included too.
ISTR that one member had them landed fron the UK for like $576 or something similar.
Oh wait, it was Sebspeed and it was less than that:

SEBSPEED, Feb 16 2006, 12:37 PM$463 for the silver bags from DSS, shipped from GB to NY in four days. You could have them painted to match at a shop and still come in a few hundred under retail. Watch out for the currency exchange fee from your credit card company, I didn't know about it, and it was like $15 if I remember correctly.

Yup, and after I sold the silver ones to Baileyrock, I bought a set of those 05 red ones, and had them shipped to me(again in 4 days!!) for $430!
If you look at their shipping chart, it is cheaper to ship to NY than any other state though, for some reason. Lucky me!! (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/fing02.gif)
What would I need to mount these on a 5th gen?
I know the color doesn't match but I am painting it black with a Red Wing and can live with the bags just as they are.
Would it be easier to get some Givis?

Even all the way out here in Oregon, shipping wasn't too bad. I paid $827 (467) for all my bags and stuff, and shipping was about $189 (106). Of course, the exchange rate was only 1.77 USD per GBP back then, today it's 1.97.

SEBSPEED, Jan 18 2007, 01:51 PMTrue, but today they are selling the full set of 05 red bags for L450!! (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/warranty.gif)
Huh.... (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/unsure.gif)
I don't understand. (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/sad.gif)
I got the full set too (hardbags and top-box) with inner liners. Everything came in a giant box and it weighed 70 pounds.
Just before Christmas 2006, I took the plunge and ordered the R258 red hardbags from David Silver Spares.
I got the saddlebag hardbags and inner liners shipped to California for $615. Came in one big box, no damage at all although the box took a bit of a beating. Shipping and final delivery took about 10 days. DSS/Honda included 4 keys so I've got spares if I ever need them.
My only complaint is that I don't know if I would have bought the liners now that I see them. They are only sized for half the saddlebag and are of the quality of those free gym bags you get with corporate logos on them. Not sure they are worth the price I paid, but at least they match the shape of the saddlebags.
