Eye-to-eye Shock Length?

Does anyone have a stock shock from a 4th gen laying around they could measure for me? I recently received the Wilbers shock I ordered, and the eye-to-eye distance for the mounts seems shorter than the OEM one. (uh-oh)

I am contacting Wilbers for help, too, but I figure on the odd chance they made it wrong, they might not be able to tell me what it's "supposed" to be.

With my exact method of a measuring tape hovering over each shock, looking down to make sure my line of sight was plumb, and eyeballling it, I measured 12.75" (324mm) on the OEM and 12.5" (317.5mm) on the Wilbers. 320mm is 12.59", so the Wilbers sure is close. I wonder if the stocker was so beat up that it extends further when all the weight was removed. Or, I could have overdone it on the coffee. Methinks and mehopes my error could have been well within +/- 7mm.

I'll be pulling things apart again when I have time, so I'll re-measure with an even more precise (ha!) method next time.

I measured 320mm as well on my stock shock (with about 45k miles) when I swapped it for a 929 unit.

I tried a new, more exact measurement system yesterday. I layed the shock down on a sheet of paper and used a pencil to mark the center of each eye. Then, I used my crappy English unit measuring tape. I still had to hever it, though. It was a lot closer to what 320 ought to be, so I'm less worried. I'm still waiting to hear back from Wilbers to see what their spec. is.

I just didn't want to lose ride height in the rear! It would feel like I had a 19" front wheel. I'm still waiting for the wather to cooperate for the test ride.
