I currently ride a 1993 pearl white beauty and am not sure if i'll be selling quite yet but im looking at a 1999 VFR in "pearl yellow" possibly as a second bike or as a replacement. The details on the 99 are as follows;

no modifications other than a solo seat cowl, and two brother c/f slip on
mint bodywork and tank
orig r/r
second owner
He is asking $6500 CAD, and have since negotiated him down to $6000 but he seems extremely firm.
What do you all think?

Seriously it depends on what you want. Do you really want a 5th gen VFR? Do you not want vtech? Do you want the slight weight advantage of a 5th Gen. Would you lose sleep over someone posting 6 months later about getting a better deal?
The bike will last many, many miles. So...being too lazy to look up CAD conversion...pull the trigger if it is within the price limit, you really want the bike, and it seems well cared for. How many low km 5th Gens pop up in your buying area?
It took me months to finally, truly be happy with my purchase. It's a great bike but buyer's remorse is subjective. Ask yourself what you will use the bike for and if a another bike fits the purchase better...:shrug:

I've got a yellow 99 vfr and I live in the Toronto area.If the bike is mint and is low mileage as you've described,Iwould say that $6000 is an excellent price.You would be hard pressed to find a decent bike for any less.In the spring a bike like that would sell in the $7000 range.I would grab it before someone else does.You won't be dissappointed for that price.

Seems steep to me for a 1999. But it depends on where you are and whats available as stated above. There has been a 2001 with 19,000km for sale in Barrie since late fall for $6650. It looks completely stock, and I'm sure there is room for some negotiation. I would think you could get 2 model years newer for the same money. And there is a 6th gen with ABS for $7000 for sale here as well(it's a 2003 I think).
What's it worth? Its weight in gold, to some of us around here but we have already been bitten by the VFR bug.

Is there any problem bringing bikes from the US to CAN and vice versa? If not come down here. I think there are much better deals to be had. I bought my '02 for $3700 US. I am curious about any import/export problems. Anyone know?
Fair deal for a mint 99 with such low Km's.
The two brothers exhaust on the 99 sounds fantastic (I have one on my 99.)
