You are asking for alot you know? goofy.gif I don't remember anyone posting about being a dentist when we had the old thread, "What is your occupation".

Oyama just posted about going back to Europe and getting his dental work done, visiting his relatives, etc. cheaper than what they wanted here in the States. dry.gif

That's the evidence that I spend WAY TOO MUCH time on here. ohmy.gif Actually I was just telling one of my son's friends today about the cost difference of dentists here and abroad . Healthcare costs are supposed to cost us 1 out of every 5 dollars we make by the year 2015 according to a news report I heard this week. pissed.gif

If you're looking for reviews of Dentists try looking into Revolutionhealth.com I don't have much experience with it but the creator is trying to make finding good health care possible.

I'd recommend Tarzana Dental, but they're on the left coast. rolleyes.gif

Try 1-800-Dentist, or your insurance if you have it, or just google it!
Get those choppers fixed. Or deleted. You'll feel better. fing02.gif
Once the pain subsides. goofy.gif

Note, I'm not involved in dentistry, other than being a frequent perio flier the last few years. 491.gif

Most of the searches such as 1-800-dentist, etc, are companies that promote dentists who pay them fees. They are all over the web. If a dentist needs big advertisements then he badly needs new patients to fill the voids left when other patients leave.

There is an organization called the Las Vegas Institute which is self-described as an "advanced centre" even though they are not accredited as such. If your dentist advertises his association with this group, then YOU ARE PAYING TOO MUCH!!!!!" The first thing they teach you is to raise your fees 20%, then raise them 20% six months later. Their philosophy is that this removes the rif-raf from the clientelle. Our office fired one of these guys as his skills didn't justify his fees.

Word of mouth is still the best way to find a dentist. Dentistry is a good source of income, but if a dentist has more bling than a rapper, you might be perceived as a cash cow rather than a valued customer.

If you do not mind traveling you can still try Eastern Europe. One reason is the dentist are cheap is the low labor. There are plenty dentist offices that were created for the dentist tourism. They speak English or German and their local language. If you are interested check this out about the Dental Tourism in Hungary.

p.s.: My parents do not speak English.

Edited for political crap. Knock it off!!!

Hey Squirrelboy check with Georgetown University School of Dentistry. Dental schools do some inexpensive work as a community service and to give students that are near graduation the opportunity to work on people. All work is supervised by dentists. I have a friend that is a dentist in Louisville and I used to go to the U of L Dental School when he was a student there.
