Another one followed me home. I don't know HOW this happens. :-)

OK, I do have plans for this pile o' shite (notice the patent pending quick steering
forks). It's a 96 VFR with barely 12k miles. After
draining the tank and cleaning the fouled plugs, it purrs like a kitten
with the exception of the cam gear whine (heh, heh!). Stock bodywork
will be history along with many other hard parts and replaced with
newer, faster items in fullfillng my current vision of the "perfect sport bike".

My latest 4th gen Had a 94 back a few years ago and kept it pretty much stock. I sold it and got a VTEC which was a big improvement. I hope to make this one at least match the VTEC in capabilities (tough row to hoe).

HEY back into the breach dear friend! I love the quick steering forks, courtesy of a deer? You gonna break out the Styrofoam and clay and model your own homegrown fiberglass fairings? I say a fully adjustable f3 fork and wheel/caliper set should do the trick or go for an upside down fork!

Nope. I have been giving it lots of thought on what directions I'll go (hint: cheapness is the main criterion!) but I'll be playing my cards close to the chest till I see if it all will work. It should but if I announce it before hand, I will doom it for sure. blink.gif

Welcome to the MMS club! biggrin.gif

Is there a snowball's chance in heck you might have the left fairing from that beast? Or pieces of it?? PLEASE pm me if you do!

Thanks, and good luck getting it all worked out!

HA! Make that 3.

My neighbor has a 4th gen. Been try'n to get him off of it for cheap. (Haven't told him about VFRD, as he is a dunba$$). Rides without a helmet,....fine. BUT he takes his girfriend's kids out without helmets, too, and plays squid.gif , with them on the back. "Sell it to me,....before you wreck it".

Foto,
LOl. Most of us have modder's syndrome. You have Multiple modder's syndrome. Except the forks, looks like a deal. May I enquire how much you got her for?

Welcome back, Doug. I would say you must have missed your NACA ducts, but they seem to have been lost somewhere. unsure.gif I hope you find some! At least you know what mods to do and you can whine again.

So, will she be a streetfighter or track bike?

Isn't there a helmet law in MI? blink.gif Or does he sneak over to OH first?

Thanks. Nope, neither (keeping cards close to chest). wink.gif

Parts Sharks: I'll be cleaning up and inspecting the bodywork today. Don't expect anything great as some of it is pretty banged up but I'll post it in the classifieds with pics.

A F4i fork set-up would be nice along with f4i bodywork grafted to it! fing02.gif

Is this the one that was advertised here a while back?

Yes, MI has a helmet law and that would be a long "sneak" as Trav is about 40 miles north of the border.

Good luck on the bike. Maybe you can sell your "quick steering front end set up" (patent pending) on eBay. laugh.gif

Take good pics and lots of notes. I'd love to reinvigorate my 96, but I don't have ANY time to learn what I need (trying to get the new house remodeled before the stork drops off a baby in July). fing02.gif
