Clunking Noise

When i ride my bike and i pull the clutch, i hear this clunking noise, its not coming from the engine, rather its any little bump i take has this clunking noise that i can feel as well. Anyone ever experienced that?

Possibly loose steering head bearings. Connection to the clutch pull is unclear, but pulling the clutch in could weight the front end enough (by removing the power/lift from the motor momentarily) to make a difference.

Sounds like a stiff link(s) in your chain. Check it out, and if so, time to replace chain and sprockets.

I'd lay money on it being the steering head bearings, but the chain could also be your culprit. Is the clunk associated with any change in the power delivery? Are you always feeling it when accelerating or decelerating? How many miles are on your bike? How many miles on the chain? Do you know the service history of the bike?

The stock steering head bearings are only good for 30K or so. I replaced mine at 35K.
The usable life of a chain varies depending upon maintenance and abuse, but you should see 10-15K.

Sorry should of been more specific. I feel it from underneath the seat so it might be the chain. There isn't much noise, rather a feel when coasting. I bought the bike 5k ago and i dont know when the chain was replaced but i can find out since i bought it of a coworker.

I let my chain get dry 1 time and some slack and it started a light knock in noise that i thought was from the front end at low speeds under 20mph...Adjusted and oiled chain and the noise stopped...

I checked it before the ride that day and was within specs. What was wrong with the chain was that it wasn't properly lubricated, something i did today but did not take it out yet! to see if the sound still exists

My '91 started doing the same at the end of the riding season last year, pull in the clutch and hear the noise ... new chain and sprockets going on VERY soon. They were last replaced 20,000kms ago. Definitely needs it. I will let you know if that remedies the problem.
