Hi there id like some feedback from riders who has installed a powercommander on their 99+ vfr's those with cat.
is there any noticable difference? is it worth the cost? what about fuel milage? power? speed?
i've been offered a K&N filter a GPR Slipon and a Powercommander all that with a custom Map

I have a 99 with a K&N, Two Brothers Slip On and a Power Commander with a map for a K&N and Micron S/O (I could not find amap for TBRwitch K&N) I can't tell any difference as far as power but I get about 1.5 mpg BETTER with the PCII with the Micron map. I have been riding without the PCII for the last few months to verify this and have consitingly been getting 39.0 mpg without the PCII connected. With the PCII I was getting 41.5
FWIW, I have also removed my PAIR valve.
FYI the 99's here do not have the cats....
I have a 2000 (with cats) and recently installed a PCIIIusb. I was mildly disappointed after installation as I couldn't detect much of a difference. However my bike is otherwise stock... I do understand that I may also need to install an aftermarket exhaust, and probably disconnect the Oxygen sensors in the exhaust to notice much difference. Hopefully this summer I can find the money for those mods.
I have never checked my mileage (before or after). Sorry...
Sounds to me like the best way if i wanna go faster is to buy another bike? sure the gas milege might improve a bit but i have to go quite a few miles to make that up
it seems like theres not much to be done with the engine on the vfr if your not a professional exhaust pipe bender and engine tuner

I think this is basically true. Some people bought the PC to eliminate a flat spot around 5500 I think but my 99 never had the flat spot that I could feel. I bought my PC just to play with when they had them on sale for $145.
I put an aftermarket can on and felt that I lost some low & midrange torque. When I put the PCII on I felt as though I got the lost torque back and then some. Bottom line, if you put on an aftermarket pipe it's worth it, otherwise don't bother with the expense.

ive seen a lot of topics here about big bore kit ive looked at the one they have at tts-performance
