i purchased a set of rear headers for a 4th gen off of ebay a few days ago and i have yet to recieve them. however, they appear to be bent where the forward pipes join in with the assembly. can anyone confirm this? they dont look the same as my 3rd gen where they connect to the front.
I looked at that auction last week and passed because it looked like only half of the exhaust system to me. You got it cheap enough that nudging things back if they are bent, shouldn't be a problem.
The forward headers cross over each other, and they do hit the collector at different angles to each other, but maybe not as much as the ebay items appear to; they *might* be tweaked a little. The lack of front header pipes may suggest an impact?
The pics also don't show rear header pipes (to which the flange in the 5th image down bolts up to). So if you are buying a 'full system' you may want to discuss with the seller.
The rest of the parts from that bike that the seller is parting out supports Murray's theory about a front-end collision. The front down pipes and forks are missing.
That's definitely not the entire system. That same seller has the rest of the parts in one or two more auctions. HERE
They also had the years pretty much wrong on their auctions as far as certain parts are concerned that are not interchangeable. They seemed too sketchy for me. Not the picture of the engine they used for the VFR engine. (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/rolleyes.gif)

yea i wish i would have noticed that when i was bidding. and when i noticed they were bent i sent a bid retraction e-mail and he JUST NOW got back to me about that one. negative feedback will be left on that auction.
got the pipe today. tried to mount it on my engine and the front tubes are WAY off. like not even under the engine anymore. i am going to try to heat them and bend them back witha pipe at work but they are pretty kinked up.
i wish i could just find a good set on ebay and not get bid out from under me. thats the evil of ebay, i NEVER win.

Not to get too off topic, but I would suggest using the following service. I almost always win what I want, and the best part has been that if/when bidder's remorse sets in, I can cancel my hidden bid (up to the last minute or so...) as opposed to bidding directly on Ebay, where you could get stuck and cannot retract your bid. Plus, it's free. (Unless you want to upgrade.)
well i got them in the mail on thursday and tried to mount them up. the front tubes were off to the left side of the engine. not a good thing.
however, me and my dad took them to work and used the ol acetylene torch on them and i think i got them to a very useable point. just a little more tweaking to go and it'll be great. i'm still not happy about having to do it tho.
does anyone have any clamps for the front pipes? i broke my factory ones and these didnt come with any.
