I am mounting my V1 detector on my 95 VFR with the Legal Speeding weather proof (?) box and a ram ball set up. I am looking for a switched power supply that I can somehow tap into.
Any Suggestions?
Also am wondering if anyone has tried using the clip-on pinch bolts as mounting points for the Ram-mount. I currently have a ram Mount attached at this location and the pinch bolt did snug down nicely,.......but have some concerns about this mounting location as it seems a fairly accessible location and no one else has yet suggested it.
My thought is to find a longer hardened bolt and stack some washers on both sides of the Ram mount.
Does this seem like a bad idea?...............Yes I am aware that Ram makes a mount for the clutch and brake reservoir mounting bolts,...but have these eyelet style laying in the drawer and it saves me about $75 for the reservoir mounting points and two longer Ram mounting arms to move the detector and GPS away fromt the windscreen durring parking lot maneuvers. (which obviously I am going to spend if anyone suggests that this is a dangerous mounting bolt.
